BoJo vs Barak
Re: BoJo vs Barak
I mention Switzerland and the moron posts an article about Austria (which he hasn't even read). No wonder he demonstrates sweet bugger all knowledge about Europe, when he doesn't know the difference.
And when he believes that Europeans don't eat corn.

But wouldn’t it carry more weight in this particular instance if the United States had an open border with Mexico, a Supreme Court in Toronto and a budget set by an unelected pan-American committee? Wouldn’t then you be better placed to tell Brits they would be better off being run by a foreign power?"

US President Barack Obama has said Britain would go to the "back of the queue" for trade deals with the US if it votes to leave the European Union.
He said Britain was at its best when "helping to lead" a strong EU and membership made it a "bigger player" on the world stage.
He was speaking at the start of a three day visit to the UK.
EU exit campaigners reacted angrily to his words, with Tory MP Dominic Raab dubbing him a "lame duck" president.

Re: BoJo vs Barak
Lame duck or not, facts are facts. A trade treaty with the EU and the Trans-Pacific Partnership are in the works. Neither of those will be displaced to negotiate a treaty with a UK turned free agent.

Re: BoJo vs Barak
It's got the UK left in a right tizzy as they hate the idea of TTIP, but will have to accept it if we stay in the EU.

The people of UK have the right to choose what they feel is in their best interest and I hope they make right the decision. I understand them wanting to run their own affairs rather than being ruled by a distant unelected bureaucrat.Gob wrote:It's got the UK left in a right tizzy as they hate the idea of TTIP, but will have to accept it if we stay in the EU.
Gob, just to satisfy my curiosity I have a question: Is there any way a federation with Europe could be designed that mollify the anti EU folks in the UK?

Re: BoJo vs Barak
Good question.
They need to take out "ever closer union," from any charter.
They need to end the Schengen agreement.
They need to agree tighter border controls and less immigration freedom
They need to stop admitting new nations, (Turkey? Turkey FFS!!)
They need to reign in the ever increasing bureaucracy.
They need to give more ability to opt out of rulings.
They need to make the court of human rights less lunatic, a lot less lunatic.

Obama has dissed the relationship with the UK ever since he came into Office and gave Gordon Brown a lousy set of CDs in exchange for a pen holder carved from the wood of HMS Resolute and a signed seven volume biography written by Winston Churchill....
He didn't even give Gordo a State Dinner and a Joint Press Conference...
He treated him like the Prime Minister of Whogivesafuckistan...
When another foreign leader,( Bibi Netanyau) came over to this country urging our Congress to vote against an agreement while on our soil, (The Iranian Cave-in Deal) Team Obama set their hair on fire...
"How DARE they meddle in our affairs!"...
But the POTUS goes to Great Britain and presumes to tell the British people how they're supposed to vote regarding the EU?
And if they don't vote the way he wants them to, they can go to the back of the queue in trade relations?
Mr. President, you have already spent seven years putting our relations with the UK in the "back of the queue"...
(Which is why you couldn't get a vote from the Conservative controlled British Parliament to support an attack on Bashir Assad over his use of chemical weapons...say what you want about George W. Bush...he'd have gotten that vote...)
One cute picture with you and Prince George doesn't make up for all those failings...
Relations between the US and the UK can't help but be better between the next American President and the current one...
Unless of course it's Donald Trump, who wants to blow up our relations with every country on the planet except Putin's Russia...

Re: BoJo vs Barak
This will be the last post I will make on federalism on this string since it is about the relationship between the UK and EU not federalism. I might start one on federalism and government, but it might take a while; my free time is short:
Who is the moron the one who makes casual observations, which almost everyone does, or the one who can’t distinguish the difference between a confederation and a federation? Switzerland was a not a federation until the 1870’s. Prior to that it was it was a confederation. They were a confederation before the US was a confederation, but we were a federation before they were. You know there is a difference.

Re: BoJo vs Barak
It's still called the Swiss Confederation, moron. It doesn't change the character of what it was or is, moron. Nor did any date in the 1870s mark any distinction between "confederation" and "federation", moron.
The process of creating a Canadian federal state is also called confederation, moron; it did not involve the union of previously independent states, moron. Words are meaningless unless one chooses to look at the substance behind them, moron. Only morons (like you) do not.
You, moron, post the most preposterous fabrications, and then when called out on your bullshit, attempt to evade responsibility for your own words by calling them "casual observations", "opinions", etc. That makes you a coward as well as a moron, moron.
The moron asks, "who is the moron?" The moron would still be you, moron.

The fact remains that cooter didn’t know the difference between a federation and a confederation.
However this is foolishness, I could waste a lot of time going over the same time stuff over and over, but I am not going to do it; my time is too precious. So what if your daddy can beat up my daddy he would find my daddy first.
Keep your distance from a fool and his foolishness.
This post was not about federalism it was about the foolishness of cooter pooper, hopefully the last time I will waste my time.

Sorry, I can't comply. It's too much fun laughing at your foolishness, fool.Keep your distance from a fool and his foolishness.
You've been saying that for years, and yet you keep coming back to have your imbecility revealed for all to see again and again. Because something in that vacuum between your ears tells you that you have the intellect to get the best of an argument. You don't, moron, and I'm happy to keep pointing this out to you.hopefully the last time I will waste my time.
So by all means, keep it coming, moron.

Re: BoJo vs Barak
Britain would be at the front of the line for a trade deal with the United States if it voted for Brexit, the Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has said.
Mr Cruz said that President Obama's intervention in the EU referendum debate, in which he said Britain would be "at the back of the queue" for a trade deal, was a "slap in the face of British self-determination".
Writing in The Times, he said: "This was nothing less than a slap in the face of British self-determination as the president, typically, elevated an international organisation over the rights of a sovereign people.
"If Brexit takes place, Britain will be at the front of the line for a free trade deal with America, not at the back. There is a vast amount of trade, commerce and investment between our two nations."
His comments will be welcome news for the Leave campaign as latest polling suggested that Mr Obama's intervention had done little to warm more people toward the Remain vote.
Mr Cruz described Mr Obama's remarks in London, alongside David Cameron, as "menacing words" and even contrasts them with what he believes were "cordial" exchanges when he met Raul Castro, the Cuban leader, whom he had billed as a "grizzled tyrant" just weeks earlier.
Mr Cruz's intervention in the debate comes as a warning that leaving the EU would be the equivalent of imposing a "tax" of one month's income on UK workers was issued by one of the world's leading economic think-tanks.

“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: BoJo vs Barak
In fact just the opposite:Mr Obama's intervention had done little to warm more people toward the Remain vote.
So maybe Obama should be encouraged to do as full campaign tour across the UK for the Remain campaign...Barack Obama's trade threat to Britain has increased support for Brexit as a string of polls show voters are ignoring the US President's claims
A string of opinion polls today showed voters are ignoring the hard hitting intervention of Barack Obama and support for Brexit has gone up.
In the latest poll, by ICM, the campaign to leave the EU was ahead 46 per cent to 44 per cent - with the poll showing a two point rise for Out.
A survey by ORB showed the In campaign was in front by five points but that the gap had closed markedly since last week.
Meanwhile, data produced by Sky News suggested 57 per cent of the public would not be influenced by the President's claims.
Mr Obama enraged Vote Leave supporters on Friday by claiming Britain would be sent to the 'back of the queue' for trade deals if it quit jthe EU.

Re: BoJo vs Barak
So Cruz is gonna bring TTIP and Trans-Pacific Partnership to a screeching halt in order to prioritize a separate trade deal with the UK.
Bullshit.
Bullshit.
