Twitter is Blowing Up over Proposed Sequel to "Frozen"

Post by Bicycle Bill »

They want Disney to give the heroine (Elsa) a girlfriend.  Because little girls watching should know that "you can be a princess and love another princess".

That's right — good ol' family-friendly Disney is being pressured/coerced/bullied by the fandom to be "inclusionary" and make their most recent "Disney Princess" a lesbian.

I'm ready, God, take me now.

Finally, something substantive for us to discuss.

What does Donald Trump think of this plan?
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

good ol' family-friendly Disney
How you figure. Most of disney's heros and heroines were either orphaned or had an evil step parent (usually an evil stepmother).
Bambi-> mother shot, abandoned by dad for most of his life.
Cinderella-> dad died after marrying evil step mom who brought along the step sisters who enslaved Cinderella
Snow White -> evil queen Step mother trying to kill Snow White
Peter Pan -> abandoned child?

A lot of Disneys families are/were a mess.

Might as well let the gays in on that mess.

..bearing in mind that all four of the Disney movies you mention, oldr, are dramatizations of books that already existed in children's literature. Even Frozen is based on a Hans Christian Anderson story. Using these as vehicles to advance a sexual agenda to satisfy a small minority is unpleasant at minimum.

IRL, Bambi's father would have only been around long enough to "plant the seed", so to speak, then would have moved on to perpetuate the species with the next doe in estrus.  Once Bambi matured, he would likely have challenged his own father for dominance as the alpha male and the right to breed with the females of the herd — including his own mother, had she survived Man, and any of his half-sisters that might have been around.
Cinderella-> dad died after marrying evil step mom who brought along the step sisters who enslaved Cinderella
Snow White -> evil queen Step mother trying to kill Snow White
Gotta stay reasonably true to the source material.  Blame the original creators of the stories (the Brothers Grimm et al), not Disney.
Peter Pan -> abandoned child?
"Lost boys", not necessarily abandoned children, who are then abducted and carried off to Neverland by flying fairies.  Didn't you watch "Hook"? :lol:

Brothers grimm and all that. I know and it seems to be the "Disney choice" in family stories.
Using these as vehicles to advance a sexual agenda to satisfy a small minority is unpleasant at minimum.
Like I said, let the gays in on the family dysfunction found in the Disney catalogue. :mrgreen:

Disney picked 'em. Seems a recurring theme.

I'm pretty sure Peter Pan was gay. He hung out with fairies. Disney ought to make a post-pubic Peter Pan movie and have him come out - or maybe have him undergo a sex change. That would really help children understand that there's a good chance they will experience depression and anxiety in their lives and many of them will decide that they live in the wrong body. We need to prepare them.

Come on Disney. We need you to lead the way!!

In all fairness sexuality has existed on a spectrum not fitting the recently socially 'acceptable' limitations for thousand of years. We now know that we are talking about as much as 20% of the population - hardly a tiny minority. New literature, including children's fables, grow out of every generation. What's wrong with a Frozen sequel involving a lesbian heroine? News flash: children don't have a problem with differences until adults teach them to. They also don't 'turn' gay from what they watch on TV or in movies.

If faith is the basis for your objection, don't see the film don't take the grandkids. Let the rest of us openminded folks enjoy another freaking princess movie, m'kay?

Well, Beauty and he Beast involved bestiality, and Pocahontas involved an interracial couple, so why not gays? Indeed, I've always wondered about the sexual orientation of mistresses Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty. :lol: Same thing with the pirates of Peter Pan--they didn't threaten Wendy's virtue--they didn't even bother the mermaids r the indian princess. :shrug

Perhaps you could explain exactly what is not "family friendly" about a lesbian princess. Are lesbians inherently anti-family?

The lesbian idea doesn't go far enough. The "Princess" needs to be an undocumented 50 yr old black lesbian parapalegic Jew from Asia who is considering transgender surgery.

Anything less than that will cause offended victims to be outraged.

Just to let you know, Joe, I intend to steal that and use it every chance I get.
After correcting the spelling of 'paraplegic', of course.

No need to discuss. My view is well known. As is yours, etc.

I guess I didn't realize you considered gay people/love/sex to be perversion. Consider me informed.
