Well, I was thinking of Gettysburg with Martin Sheen and Jeff Daniels, but I thought that was a mini-series...

Or maybe I just didn't see it till it was on TV...

Sounds like a line referring to an argument during the Scopes trial ... and I only know of one theatrical movie that had that as its plotline.  So I'm guessing here when I say "Inherit the Wind".

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

LJ got it :ok - it's a long movie - maybe Turner played it over a couple of nights on TNT. But it was first a theatrical release. Shortly after it came out, me 'n Margaretta and our friends Brian and Carole stayed at the Cashtown Inn where some of the stars stayed and filming was done. The landlord (at that time) played the Gettysburg CD soundtrack from morning until er... morning.

Complete quote:
Major General George E. Pickett: Sirs, perhaps there are those among you who believe you are descended from a ape. I suppose there may even be those among you who believe that I am descended from a ape. But I challenge the man to step forward who believes that General Robert E. Lee is descended from a ape.

James L. Kemper: Hear, hear!

Brig. Gen. Richard B. Garnett: Not likely.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I think this is a pretty easy one:
Don't blame me, blame it on the bossa nova.

Okay, apparently not easy enough, so here's another quote:
The young carpenter from Nazareth? I know him well. Promising young man. He died badly.
If no one else gets it, I'm sure Big RR will... 8-)

When this thread first got going, I thought I would be good at it. Reality set in. Then thought, well I'm not good at this because I don't remember quotes. But, after going through a bunch of these, I realize I'm not good at this because I haven't seen at least 95% of the movies from which the quotes are taken, and worse, haven't even heard of 90% of them.

You're still doing F-A-A-SA-A-R better than me L-R!

I'm sorry, I'm afraid that's incorrect, but we have some lovely parting gifts for you, as well as the home version of our game...

We Romans are rich. We've got a lot of gods. We've got a god for everything. The only thing we don't have a god for is premature ejaculation, but I hear that that's coming quickly.

I wasn't sure of the specific movie, but as soon as I read that quote, I thought, "gee, that really has a Mel Brooks feel to it"...
