An infographic that has been making the rounds on Twitter, Facebook and Imgur over the last few months tells you how you can make "Bernie Sander's Glowsticks" with chemicals readily available at Walmart and other stores.
But following the recipe won't result in any glow-in-the dark luminarias. In fact, mixing the ingredients could injure or even kill you.
Any high school chemistry teacher can tell you what happens if you actually combine the chemicals: Your "glowstick" won't glow, it will explode. Chloroform could be produced, possibly damaging the nervous system, lungs and kidneys.
The bogus recipe first appeared on a message board called Ponychan, a self-described community for older fans of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, according to Buzzfeed. Since then, it's been shared over various social media.
Apparently, some internet trolls are hoping gullible Sanders supporters will try to make the dangerous cocktail — and feel the chemical burn.
