OK, we're in the middle of the NBA finals — two games down, at least two to go. Look at this schedule for the remaining games (as well as the games already played):
- ● Game 1 ... played on 6/2
● Game 2 ... played on 6/5
● Game 3 ... to be played on 6/8
● Game 4 ... to be played on 6/10
● Game 5 if needed ... to be played on 6/13
● Game 6 if needed ... to be played on 6/16
● Game 7 if needed ... to be played on 6/19
My question is:
Why do they need so much time to go through the finals? Even if Golden State sweeps the finals and it only needs to go four games, it's going to take these guys
NINE DAYS to play those games!
And if it runs for a full seven game series, it will not conclude until Thursday the 19th ... which means that since game 1 was played on Thursday the 2nd, they will have consumed 18 days —
TWO AND A HALF WEEKS — to play a total of seven games (336 minutes) of basketball.
This is professional sports. These guys have already played through a full regular season as well as the preliminary games leading up to this final series. Why do they suddenly need two off-days between games in the Finals? Are these guys that much of a bunch of candy-asses that they have to rest and recuperate and lick their boo-boos for two days? Major league and minor league baseball players (even at
an unpaid, non-professional level) play a three hour game one night, then climb onto a bus or airplane, travel overnight, and do the same thing the following evening and the evening after that. Are these ridiculously overpaid tall guys in short pants such delicate little
prima donnas that
they can't perform for an hour a night and then get up the next day and do it again?
No wonder I think basketball — as it is played these days — is garbage.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
