"Muhammad Ali"
(originally by Tom Russell)
From Louisville Kentucky name of Cassius Clay
Fought my way out to see another day
Seven to one odds against ol' Sonny Liston
Took my title from me but I kept on my mission
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
You know you've got me dancing
I'm the champion of the ring
You know my name
Is Muhammad Ali
No George Foreman ever called me a quitter
No Viet Cong ever called me a nigger
Threw my gold medal in the Ohio river
I won for the land of the free. Bumaye
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
You know you've got me dancing
I'm the champion of the ring
You know my name
Is Muhammad Ali
Yes my mind is free and all your love I'll never forget
Yes in time you'll see
I am the most beautiful
I am the most beautiful fighter yet
I know my destination and I know the truth
Yes I am the Louisville Lip that you've been talking to
All my life I've been dancing, like a rooster I will sing
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
You know you've got me dancing
I'm the world champion of the ring
You know my name
Is Muhammad Ali

In Memorium
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Re: In Memoriam
He enriched the world and kept boxing relevant for a long time. He was saved by the bell in the fight against Our 'Enery and even in that, he gave millions in England a wonderful 'might have been'! He stood on principle over Vietnam and paid a price. His transformation from cocky prizefighter to dignified and principled "statesman" (can I use that word?) was amazing, whatever his private failings may have been. His battle against Parkinson's was the only one he couldn't win, but he took a victory anyway by the manner in which he lived. His daughter Rasheda said early Saturday that the legend was "no longer suffering"
In the largest sense, he remains undefeated and the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Re: In Memorium
And so it begins. It wouldn't surprise me one iota if at least one of the broadcast networks — probably ABC — trots out some old video of Howard Cosell, who was one of the few in the national media who supported Ali's refusal to report for induction into the military and accepted his name change and conversion to Islam (Black Muslims) right from the beginning, interviewing or talking about Ali.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
