I'm glad we've finally cleared that up and can now move on to things that really matter, like Bill Clinton's tallywhacker.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Nice of you to tell us, our lives have been unenriched thereby.

Gee whiz, rube tossed out a gratuitous, completely unprovoked shit bomb.

Well that certainly makes for a change...

While you may think that the appeal of a color is subjective, an Australian research and marketing project has identified the “ugliest color in the world”.

After surveying a group of 1,000 smokers to find out which colors they find most visually offensive, PANTONE 448C—also known as “opaque couché”—is deemed to be the least attractive of all.

This greenish brown color has been associated with words like “death”, “dirty” and “tar”—however, its very repulsiveness makes it useful in the fight against smoking.

It is now used on all tobacco products, along with graphic health warnings, in Australia—other countries, including France, Ireland and the UK, are following suit.

What do you think of PANTONE 448C—if you are smoker, would it dissuade you from lighting up?
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Wait a minute here. This ugly color was selected such by a very select group of judges.

It could easily be a much loved color of non-smokers. And my basic statistics class said a sample of 1000 is not enough to predict the favorite, or 'most ugly' color of any general population, no matter what they were smoking.

You suffer from the same problem as wes, rube...

Frequently your "humor" is so subtle, it can easily be taken for not being funny at all...

It looks a whole lot like the color of MANY Jeeps and tanks we used to see before they decided that desert camo was "in".

Now watch out, I have fond memories of olive drab. :)
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

I am a smoker and no, it would not dissuade me from lighting up.
Don't know what an ugly color has to do with whether or not I have a cigarette, but I am sure the grant money they recieved to do this study was well spent.
How do they plan to use this color to "dissuade" people from smoking?

Speaking of nicotine drug addiction. As I have mentioned, I stopped going to AA meetings early on because I felt there was too much connection between God and sobriety. The meetings were way too "churchy" for me. I was sober then and I am sober now -- 35 years later -- and God has absolutely nothing to do with it.

However, the other main problem was that almost every member in almost every AA chapter smoked their fool heads off at these meetings. As a non-smoker, and within ten minutes of these meetings, I was physically distressed due to all the carcinogens bombarding the air. (Smokers have their own personal agendas when it comes to their nicotine fixes and it never includes a nonsmoker.) I was always relieved when the meetings were over.

Anyway, I stopped going to these meeting for fear that my lungs were turning the color of this thread starter. Carry on.
