fucking crows
fucking crows
I have come to dislike crows.
they break and / or pull up my seedlings for no apparent reason..., I ve watched them many times.
they are mean to the other birdies.
I don t mind any of the other birds in my garden, they eat buggies and wormies and don t do any more damage than occasionally pooping on something I want to eat.
I am tempted to shoot a couple of crows with my bb gun.
would that be wrong? I am NOT going to eat them.

Fucking Crows
Why did the crow? Caws!
Where do crows go for a drink? To the crowbar.

Re: fucking crows
It depends. Are they AMERICAN crows? If not, they should be rounded up and expelled from this great country. How dare they come in and help themselves to our buggies and wormies ?!? (Really, wes — "Buggies and wormies" ??) And then build a big net on the border to make sure they stay there. And it'll be HEEYUUUGE, and you're gonna like it when it's done.wesw wrote:I am tempted to shoot a couple of crows with my bb gun.

Secondly, crows are black. Are you sure that you're not racially profiling them? Remember, #BlackLivesMatter!
Seriously, though, and in simplest terms — yes, it would probably be wrong. Discharge of a weapon, even an air rifle, in an urban environment (usually codified as "within a specified distance of an occupied structure") is generally a no-no.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: fucking crows
You'll be eating crow wes, I'm quite sure of that.

Re: fucking crows
Check the local game laws. Crows are a federal protected species, by way of the migratory bird treaty with Canada and Mexico. Comes about from the Brit/Canada cultural value that says little animals of all types are more important than people.
But who is gonna report you to the authorities? About the second year I was living out here a New Castle County gardner paid me $5 each for shooting ground hogs in their garden with a .22 rimfire. Totally illegal. Not legal to shoot a rifle, any kind, at anything, in New Castle County outside a licensed and inspected shooting range.

Re: fucking crows
No, you should not shoot a crow. Some of my best friends are crows and I'm proud of that fact.
Re: fucking crows

bs gal..., very funny, I mean actually funny..., who knew that you could craft a good joke....
(probably every opposing counsel you have faced
)
joe..., thanks for speaking to me!!!!
ah...., saving the worst for last...
Barnacle Bill...., your jokes were forced and predictable, not funny at all....
...but to your serious point...., I would never shoot any thing with out a safe backdrop, the laws don t concern me too much.
...not that I would take any ethical advice from a brake checking , left lane hogging, idiot. (that s you, just in case you were slow on the uptake..... Einstein...

Re: fucking crows
oh yeah...., BP gate.... I almost forgot your reply....
serious replies are often overlooked...
I grew up on the eastern shore of Maryland....., they weren t protected when I was growing up...., there was an open season on crows all year, I think that DE was the same....
I m not sure that they are protected, I ll check....
but yeah, you are right, nobody is gonna say a word if I safely plunk a crow with a bb gun, if I had a groundhog, and asked my neighbors if they minded If I plunked it with a 22, they would likely say...., (fine, but you be careful now....)

Re: fucking crows
ETA- BP, you can hunt crows, in DE , Thursday Friday and Saturday from the end of June to the end of March....no bag limit
eta eta...in Maryland its the middle of august til middle of march....no limit no more open season..., I m not sure that you even needed a license to shoot crows back then...
i saw some links on google about people just slaughtering crows by the thousands....
i ll probably just let the buggers live, tho i made plunk em with the little bb if the mess with my newest corn saplings when they sprout
they are considered predatory birds i nelieve....

Re: fucking crows
Outdoor Life or one of those hunting magazines had a recipe for crows once upon a time, think it used orange sauce or something similar .the crows pull up the seedlings to get at the tasty little sprout that creates the young plant(Crows are like Humans ,they go for easy, thats why they eat the eyes of dead animals first.

Re: fucking crows
I think shooting them is probably more legal than the suggestion in the Subject line. At least, it is in many states. Probably not the state of mind wesw inhabits

Re: fucking crows
Yes indeed, they are predatory birds. Watch the sky and you will see little birds chasing crows in a manner that looks just like a WWII movie of a heavy bomber pursued by small fighter planes.

Re: fucking crows
Seen a Raven in another county which had the most unusual feather pattern ,on its back it had the outline of another bird shape in white feathers ,very interesting ,crows and Ravens are very long lived birds barring accident or design, they generally do much more good then harm .If it werent for the birds we would be up to our eyeballs in carrion and insect pests .

I think wesw must have a very strange male er... attachment if it works with crows.

I always noticed that and in Alaska the crows were the "little" birds going after the bald eagles.Burning Petard wrote:Yes indeed, they are predatory birds. Size matters.

Don't shoot the crows if you are not going to eat them.
They are just looking for a meal.
Throw a few firecrackers at them instead.
