Extra-national governance is not optional. You can either choose to be a part of it or choose to do as they tell you to. You cannot opt out of the planet.

You will pay a lot more and get exactly nothing for it in greater individual power. Norway recognizes that fact by adopting 75% of EU rules automatically. And Norway is very rich with an enormous sovereign wealth fund. If money is power they have understood the limits of it.

Earlier I said that it was not in the economic interests of Scotland to leave the UK, and it wasn't. But doing so would have given them more autonomy in a limited sense, more sovereignty. Pride and sense of self. But this is the kind of foolish pride that Putin pays his subjects with. An illusion of power and importance in exchange for greater poverty and corruption.

So why does the USA not join in then?

Has the USA been invited? Last I checked it was part of NATO, but has never been invited to be part of the EU or the European Common Market, or the European Parliament.

I am trying to imagine what France, Italy, Greece, would say about the USofA economic engine as part of the EU. They have a hard time admitting to the weight of the German economy.

That is an amazingly silly argument. I think Boris J. was dishonest enough to bring it up but it shows a thorough contempt for the intelligence of his constituents.

The USA is an economic unit about the size of the EU already so we already have the advantages of scale and size vs other markets which you can only have by joining the EU. We have internal trade between states and with Canada and Mexico regulated by US law and US treaties with our neighbors. And the USD is the international reserve currency because the rest of the world trusts us to control the Fed. better than EU is trusted to manage the Euro and the Pound is too small.

And if you look around the US is involved in forming larger groups of trading partners all the time, NAFTA, the TPP &c. Because we start as a larger trading partner (like t he EU could be) we have a disproportionate influence on the terms of those agreements.

It's a good time to stock up on luxury UK textiles, if you fancy them. The pound just fell 10% against the dollar!

you know..., I was so excited as I watched the returns on fox business last night..., I watch all the debates and election coverage on Fox Business because they are intelligent and honest. I know their leanings and they don t hide them. and they have opposing views presented intelligently too....

I was so excited because I watched liberty being re born...

I watched the magna carta being forced upon the sovereign...

I watched common law and common sense prevail....

I watched America s founding....

I watched parliament stand against the sovereign...., and gain power....

I watched Churchill s "history of an English speaking peoples" unfold before my eyes....

thank you England.....

Scotland...., it would be lovely to see you stand free again....

wales too...

Kurdistan..., live free or die...., I am with you.

Jordan...., your king is worthy, let him fight, liberty lives within him.

thank you Britain

let Scotland paint its own Picture.....

oh yeah, England..., Ireland will be whole again. do not stand in their way or you may be trampled beneath them in northern Ireland.....

liberty for everyone!!!
