I had never heard of Robin Sparkles, and after listening to as much of that as I could stand, I could have gone the rest of my life without ever hearing about her.

Thank you, Sue, for starting off my Canada Day with the taste of that in my mouth.

You forgot Beach Castles in the Sand:

there was also a punk/angst ridden song that ruined her career (PS I love You) but I couldn't find a video (along with her stalking of Alan Thicke).

What??? It's a sweet song about friendship!

And did you even try "Let's Go To The Mall"?????? (Which is AWESOME, by the way.)

I see BigRR is a Robin Sparkles fan, too! This is the song you were looking for:

I think it ruined Alanis Morisette's career as well.

Well she had tiffany in some of her videos, so what's not to like?

and if I recall correctly, Two Beavers was the theme song of a schlocky Canadian Sci Fi series that had limited play in the US

More! We want more! Brava!

Who sez Leonard Cohen was the last great Canadian lyricist?

"Two beavers" is down in the groove, baby. Smmmmokin' hot licks! And "Let's go to the mall" really captures the joy and angst of being a teenager in the 21st century; that sweet loss of innocence when you make your first credit card purchase and learn that if you make the minimum payments each month you will be debt-free in 28 short years. Clearly a riff on Kafka's "metamorphosis"; transformation and change. You can see her evocation of hexapodality in the hand-waving.

I was not familiar with her, but I thought "The Mall" one was pretty funny...

Her imitation air-head style reminds me of Julie Brown...

I could never forgive her for what she did to Tommy James. He didn't deserve that.

Yup, can't argue with that. But she thought they were alone. And at least it wasn't Crystal Blue Persuasion or Sweet Cherry Wine :D Indeed, it's not as bad as what Juice Newton did to Merilee rush around the same time.

A rather long documentary that lasted for 6 seasons (I think) and was threatened with cancellation pretty much each season.

I loved that it periodically featured a Canadian ex-pat bar in NYC (called the "Hoser Hut").

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
