trump is serious!!!!!
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I heard part of a speech he gave today that was even worse...
It started out actually pretty good (for him.) He obviously had the first part prepared and written out; he went through a very effective point-by-point recitation of claims Hillary had made regarding her emails and then quoted from Comey's report showing how she had lied about each one...
He probably should have gotten off the stage when he was through with that, but instead he switched to extemporaneous mode and hopped the bus to Crazy Town....
First he attacked NBC Meet The Press host Chuck Todd at great length for reporting his compliment for Saddam Hussein...
Managing to create a complete diversion from his initial strong points about Hillary's lies regarding her emails with an attack on a journalist, and putting his praise for Hussein back into another news cycle to boot...
But not content with that, he followed that rant up immediately with a second one, this time attacking CNN for their coverage of the Hillary/Cash/Star Of David tweet, attacking journalists again, and bringing another campaign fuck up back into the media spotlight...
And now all the news coverage of his speech today has been about, guess what? If you said his well crafted critique on Hillary's veracity, go to the back of the class...
No it's been all about the attack on Todd the attack on CNN, and his praise of Saddam Hussein and the Star Of David tweet fiasco....
This has become a real self-destructive pattern with Trump. He does this kind of thing so often; blow golden opportunities with unforced off-message tirades...
that I'm beginning to wonder if on some level he actually realizes just how unfit he is to be President, and so (perhaps unconsciously) he is deliberately sabotaging himself to make certain he doesn't win...

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Why? I've always wanted to live & work abroad, it's on my bucket list. I'm not renouncing my citizenship, yo! Remember I'm a Mayflower descendant - I'm very patriotic!

Donald Trump just can't stop stepping on his own dick. And even if he could, Hillary would do the job for him:

Ow, that's gotta hurt.

I know it's off-topic, and I also know that use of material like this is considered satire and is protected the "fair use" provision of copyright law, but I still can't help but wonder how the Berenstains felt, deep down, when they saw their images and characters used in what is — well — such a coarse and vulgar manner.

Personally, I don’t believe in bros before hoes, or hoes before bros. There needs to be a balance. A homie-hoe-stasis, if you will.

I'd love to live in Canada, Canadians are very nice people! Sadly, they all seem to speak English quite well so I'm not sure what skills I have that I could market there. I'm pretty good at shoveling snow, maybe that?Beer Sponge wrote:Canada is nice, and we're close by! the problem with being a US expat is that you will still have to pay US income tax on your money, funding the folly of the government you are fleeing without having a chance to help fix it.

Everything You Need to Know About Today’s GOP Rules Committee Meeting
The Republican convention's powerful rules panel is slated to gavel in this morning at 8 a.m. So what do they do and why are they important? Here's everything you need to know:
What Are The Basics? Get Me Up To Speed. The convention’s rules committee is a group of 112 delegates that will write the rules for the Republican convention. They meet on Thursday at 8 a.m. in downtown Cleveland to propose edits to the temporary rules that have been in place since 2012. They’ll meet all day on Thursday and go into Friday if necessary.
So What Is The Anti-Trump Movement Trying To Change? Anti-Trump forces, spearheaded by Colorado delegate Kendal Unruh, are trying to insert a rule that would let delegates vote for whomever they choose, giving the convention the chance to block Donald Trump’s nomination.
But How Would It Happen? The group will propose its amendment during the rules panel meeting either Thursday or Friday, depending on the number of other amendments on other rules from various other members. The panel will then hold an up-or-down vote on the amendment. The vote is likely to fail by a wide margin, but we should get a sense of whether the group is able to garner the support for a minority report.
Okay, You Lost Me. What’s A Minority Report? A group of delegates can force a vote on the full convention floor if they submit a “minority report” -– a petition with the text of the amendment and the signatures of 28 rules panel members (a quarter of the committee’s membership).
So The Fight For A Rules Change Will Drag Into Next Week? Yes. This minority report must be submitted within one hour of the panel’s final vote, which will likely happen next Monday afternoon. If successful, the effort would then need support from more than half of the 2,472 delegates on the full convention floor to unbind the delegates.
And If This Minority Report Doesn't Work, What's Left? Not much. Some anti-Trump delegates insist that the delegates are actually already unbound under the current rules. That's not the way the RNC's top lawyers see it, but there are rules that allow delegates to object if they don't think their vote was reported correctly. It's not clear how many how many plan to raise protests on the floor during the roll call vote if they try to go rogue.

Unruh and other spokespeople for the two groups fighting to have the delegates unbound say they have the votes needed to get a minority report to the floor, the Trump people say they don't....
We'll see...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Apparently Drumpf has got his VP field down to three:
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Gingrich and Christie....
Personally I hope he doesn't go with Pence, since he's the candidate that would probably help him the most...(or at least damage him the least)
Pence is certainly no towering figure, but he's not a bloviating, snarling gaffe machine like the other two...
With either Christie or Gingrich, it wouldn't be just Trump's fuck ups that the campaign would have to clean up the next day, and they also both bring a ton of baggage with them...
With Pence at least he doesn't have those problems. A big part of the job as Donald Trump's VP in the campaign each day will be trying to rationalize and explain the stupid things the Presidential nominee said the day before. At the very least you want a Veep who won't add a whole bunch of his own stupid things that have to be explained everyday...
Pence could also help Trumpty with the social Conservatives who aren't happy with him in ways that Gingrich, (with Trump and Gingrich together, we would have America's first Six Wife Ticket) and Christie, (who many of them see as a moderate) wouldn't...
I'm sure the political pros around Trump are pushing Pence but I would prefer he go with one of the other two...
ETA:
I think that if Trump were to pick the one who he would most personally like to have it would be Christie. Christie is the biggest ass kisser, and being willing to slavishly and unquestioningly kiss his ass is a quality that Trump prizes above all others. Even Gingrich occasionally criticizes him.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Whoever teams up with him is most likely ruined politically after this debacle, and I vote Christie just because of that.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Yesterday on CNN they were saying Trump's VP choice was either Pence or Gingrich. Gingrich said the same thing in an interview.
I was hoping for Christie. Donald & Chris would have been the most entertaining to watch and probably the most likely to lose.
