It's one of my all time favorites; I watch it probably about once a year and I still bust out laughing... some truly hilarious dialogue and the chemistry between Lemon and Dennis was pitch perfect...

Anyone who has ever been on a trip where one thing after another, after another, after another has gone wrong can relate to it...

I loved that movie when it hit the cinemas in the 1970s UK. My Saturday habit was to walk up to the Odeon in Streatham and watch whatever they were showing; have lunch at an Italian restaurant on the high street; then walk along to the ABC and watch whatever they were showing.

Some years later, I watched the original Out of Towners for a second time - and thought it was shrill, mean and stupid. Goes to show

I've been waiting to get another one right so I could use these lines which have been used from time to time in my marriage.

Scene: They are in bed, waking up from what was probably an active night.

She says
Where's that cat?
He Says
What cat?
She says
The one that shit in my mouth.
All four of the stars of this movie have gone on to bigger and better things, two of them big time. It's not new, and it's not award winning, but I remember those lines like it was yesterday.

Another movie by the same name was made in 2012, but it was a totally different story, not a remake.

This is strictly a guess but how about "Cat Ballou?"

No RayThom, no cats were harmed in the making of this movie. "Cat Ballou" is so old that the country wasn't mad at Jane Fonda yet.

a movie most folks here would actually get would either have to be a multi-academy award winner, a major box office smash (like, #1 or 2 for the year), or made in the last 10 years for most to remember lines.
I guess I am not "most folks here". :shrug :loon
In retrospect maybe I should have gone with Two Mules For Sister Sara because of the Eastwood connection...
shoulda, coulda, woulda and then I might have had a chance. but probably not

Eastwood movie quotes would be great. They are Arch Stanton approved!

OK, time for a hint or two. Not only were no cats harmed in the making of this movie, I don't think there were any cats in the movie, unlike #10 Downing Street: http://www.usnews.com/news/world/articl ... ing-street . If a cat did indeed used Meg Ryan's mouth as a potty, it was off screen for the rest of the movie. She did seem to have a bit of a potty mouth though...

Stars were Jason Gedrick, Michael J Fox's then girlfriend (still wife) Tracy Pollan, and a couple of people we've never heard of, Keifer Sutherland and Meg Ryan.

Is it "The Incredible Journey" which kind of diluted the cat by having two dogs in it as well?

I've only seen 1 movie I can name that I remember Meg Ryan being in ( "Joe Vs the Volcano") although I know she was in a pair of rom-coms that were fairly big hits for their time, neither of which I've seen in their entirety, and none with Kiefer Sutherland that I can think of. In fact I'm not entirely certain I've ever seen ANYTHING with Kiefer Sutherland in it, as I never watched the TV show "24" and that's the only thing I know of that he was in. I've never heard of Jason Gedrick or Tracy Pollan, so that's no help at all.

The presence of Meg "Chick Flick Queen" Ryan probably means this is one of those sappy "relationship" movies, which is why it is ringing no bells for me...

I've seen a lot of movies, but as I said, that genre's a big blank spot for me...

I've watched a few of them, but never because I freely chose to do so, and my memory of the dialogue for the ones I have seen is greatly handicapped by the fact that I was probably passing in and out of consciousness at the time...
