Don't hold your breath Eric...

Post by Lord Jim »

Jim,

As I watched the parade of extremist speakers this past week at the Democrat Convention, it’s clearer than ever before, we need my father in the White House.

It’s time to win this election.

So my father has promised to match your contribution up to $1 million, but only until Sunday at MIDNIGHT.

We cannot afford to lose this election, Jim.

That’s why it’s time to win this thing and Make America Great Again!

Please contribute $250, $100, $50 or $25 so that we have the resources we need to place my father in the White House.

Sincerely,

Eric Trump
The Trumpies must gotten my email from the California registered Republican list...

I doubt very seriously that either Free The Delegates or the Kasich campaign would be providing them their lists...

I'd happily forward you the "Are you With me?" email I got this morning (and I don't know why she's asking me, since I've sent money every quarter and just did again on Tuesday after she was officially nominated). Or "We made History!" Chip in now and get a limited edition button.....

You might like the "become a Partner" and stop Trump email that she sent out yesterday, after his treasonous call to Russia to hack US Government email accounts.

Just say the word, and they're headed to your email box . . .

parade of extremist speakers this past week at the Democrat Convention
Um, who exactly are the "extremists" on parade? Seriously, who on the DNC dais proposed any extremist position, and what was it?

Was it calling for jailing and/or executing a political opponent?

Was it calling for torture of prisoners and other war crimes?

Was it calling for banning visitors and immigrants based on their religion?

Was it a proposal for a thousand-mile Great Wall of Texas/New Mexico/Arizona/California to keep out the Messicans?

Was it adopting platform planks approving "conversion therapy" for homosexuals and opposition to their civil rights?

Was it calling for foreign espionage against a former government official and political opponent?

Was it someone claiming that s/he alone could fix the problems of government?

What?????

"Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes and ears?"

That is such a bare-faced lie. I can hardly believe you'd stoop that low. Trump must be stopped; he's obnoxious and noxious; but he did not call on Russia to hack US government email accounts. He made a joke that someone here might well have made if they'd only thought of it quickly enough. (He shouldn't have said it, obviously, for more than one reason).

Or do you suppose that the 30,000 emails missing because Clinton deleted them are not (in fact) "personal" as she claimed?

I heard what he said originally. I heard him try to walk it back. He knew exactly what he was doing, and asking his buddy Putin to do.

This is what he said:
Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you'll be rewarded mightily by our press
You construe that to be a "treasonous call to Russia to hack US Government email accounts", following the party line? (I don't blame them for taking advantage but was disgusted with NPR chiming in with the repeated claim as well - along with them misconstruing Bill Clinton's 30 days remark about Hillary)

Be mad because Trump is stupid and should never have said anything like this, ever. But don't pretend he was advocating espionage.

Guess what I got in my email this morning?
Thisiswhy,

I can’t wait until we have an America we can both be proud of again.

When we have a President who looks out for Americans first.

A President who rips up trade deals that kill American jobs. A President that builds a wall and places our National Security first. A President who will Make America Great Again!

I can’t wait until we have a leader like Donald Trump as our next President.

If you can’t wait either, then I need you to donate today so we can make that happen.

In fact, Donald Trump told me that up until Sunday, he is going to personally match your donation dollar-for-dollar, up to $1 million.

CONTRIBUTE $250 = $500 MATCHED

CONTRIBUTE $100 = $200 MATCHED

CONTRIBUTE $50 = $100 MATCHED

CONTRIBUTE $25 = $50 MATCHED

CONTRIBUTE OTHER AMOUNT

So Thisiswhy, if you are like me and you can’t wait until we have a President who puts America first, then let’s work together to take our country back today.

Will you donate $250, $100, $50, or $25 today? Because whether you donate $250, $100, $50, or $25, Donald Trump will match it up to $1 million.

Because with your help, we are going to Make America Great Again!

Thank you,

Governor Mike Pence

No, I suspect many of them are chain letters, offers for penis or breast enhancers, appeals to click here to look at the cute kitten, offers to help move money out of the national bank of Nigeria. I probably delete thousands of these myself

Gob, that was FUCKING HILARIOUS! I almost pissed myself! :ok

One more time about the emails:

There were a few thousand that the FBI found deleted which were deleted over the course of regular business and which they found NO INTENT of any nefarious activity in deleting them. Many of those might have been routine blah blah blah and some were just things that no longer seemed necessary to save for whatever reason and maybe some spam, too.

The 30,000 'missing emails' ARE NOT MISSING, they are NOT STATE DEPARTMENT BUSINESS emails! They are private emails, like, 'Hi Chelsea, I'll be in NYC next week, wanna get lunch?' or more likely, many many emails to her friends and supporters from the 2008 Presidential campaign that ARE NOT SUBJECT TO PUBLIC RECORD REQUEST, period.

And when CHUMPY CHIMPANZEE (sorry to chimpanzees everywhere) and his lackeys like Paul Manafort say, "well if there's nothing to hide, why doesn't she turn them over?" I say, FUCK YOU! We have a right to privacy in this country and I swear the more I hear folks BLEATING on and on and on about this email 'controversy' (that means you too, LJ! :nana ) the angrier it makes me :arg because I just can't stand an injustice!

By the end of all this, I'm going to freaking LOVE Hillary Rodham Clinton, because I am a sucker for a good and RIGHTEOUS fight!

And that was my point. If they are are personal emails and not State Department business, then Trump is NOT calling for Russia to hack US Government servers, is he?

He's making a not very funny "funny".

He's still unspeakable scum.

Here's what Michael Hayden said about it, and I think he covers all the bases pretty well:
Meanwhile, retired U.S. Air Force general Michael Hayden, director of the NSA and CIA under president George W. Bush, criticized Trump's comments in an interview with Bloomberg View columnist Eli Lake.

"If he is talking about the State Department e-mails on her server, he is inviting a foreign intelligence service to steal sensitive American government information," Hayden said. "If he is talking about the allegedly private e-mails that she destroyed, he is inviting a foreign intelligence service to violate the privacy of an individual protected by the Fourth Amendment to the American Constitution."

"Perhaps he doesn't know what he's talking about. Just a theory," Hayden said.

Other than the editorial words "he is inviting", that sounds about right.

Keep on parroting the Democrat party line if you wish - it doesn't make the truth untrue. It was a juvenile and damaging joke, sarcastically aimed at Clinton AND at the press which had so gleefully worked itself into a frenzy over the National Committee emails and helped hound a Democrat woman off the podium.

His joke is that perhaps the Russians will help the press do that to Hillary. A reasonably funny remark if posted here by Gob (to name but one); feeble and irresponsible in a candidate for the Presidency.

Trump remains despicable, valueless, dangerous and utterly unfit to change the liner in a parrot's cage. He deserves all he gets for making this remark - but people criticizing him for it should know better than to demean themselves by lying about it.

Nobody is lying about it, Meade. He said what he said; words matter when you're President, which he wants to be. Presidents shouldn't 'joke' about inviting espionage. The guy constantly praises the dictator Putin, and he's indebted to his ears to Russian oligarchs invested in his companies.

It doesn't take a whole lot of common sense to draw the obvious conclusion. That's not lying.

The last time a President (or Presidential wanna-be) joked about Russia:

And IIRC, there was some shit that hit the fan then too.

And that was in a sound check before a speech, only intended as a private joke for the people in the Oval Office at the time, not in a nationally televised press conference in a room full of hundreds of reporters...

This is how weird it gets...

For decades, my party (rightly) accused the Democrats of being "soft" on the Russkies...

Now the Democrats are (rightly) accusing the Republican Presidential nominee of being pro-Russian...

And if that weren't enough, we're past the All Star Break, and The Chicago Cubs and The Cleveland Indians are in first place in their divisions...

We don't have to worry about climate change...

The Earth has left its orbit and is hurtling into the sun....
