I'm using Firefox now, I've used it for years, and I've never had the image sizing problem described...(I really like its spell checker, and it's got some great free ad-on features like Ad Blocker Plus...I also find its speed and user interface superior to Chrome and VASTLY superior to IE)

And this computer I'm on has Windows XP...(I use it on another computer with Windows 7 and no problems there either)

Every now and then, an image will initially appear over sized, but in less than a second it self corrects...

If it's not a smart phone issue, and it's not an operating platform or browser issue (And since I can use the same operating platform as you BB...and even an older one...and the same browser, and not have the problem, those two possibilities would seem to be eliminated) then it's got to be a problem related in some way specifically to your computer...

I'm not so sure it has anything to do with the browser. It could be some kind of setting on the BBS software. I've posted large photos at other places and they shrink to fit the page. Here I always have to find a small sized photo.

How about you all stop whinging and just deal with it. Jesus, you're making little children seem tough as Navy seals.

Well Joe, I'm on the same BBS as you, (at least I think I am) and I ain't havin' this problem, (nor apparently are many others) so I think we can eliminate that as the cause...

Hmmm.... well... maybe the BBS software is not compatible with everybody's browser. Why do we have to right-click on a link? It's all Gob's fault.

btw - I use Firefox on Windows 10 most of the time. I can't find any tools that say 'shrink image to fit' or anything like that. It's probably a conspiracy.

Secret Service spoke to Trump campaign about 2nd Amendment comment

(CNN)A US Secret Service official confirms to CNN that the USSS has spoken to the Trump campaign regarding his Second Amendment comments.
"There has been more than one conversation" on the topic, the official told CNN.

The campaign told USSS Donald Trump did not intend to incite violence.

"No such meeting or conversation ever happened," Trump tweeted in response to CNN's report.[well now we know it's true. There can be no better confirmation then that...]
The controversy erupted on Tuesday afternoon when Trump said at a rally that Second Amendment defenders might be able to stop Clinton from appointing justices to the Supreme Court who could weaken gun rights.

"Hillary wants to abolish -- essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know," Trump said. "But I tell you what, that will be a horrible day, if Hillary gets to put her judges in, right now we're tied."

The Secret Service's communications director Cathy Milhoan has not confirmed the conversations between the campaign and the Secret Service, but said in a statement Tuesday that "the U.S. Secret Service is aware of Mr. Trump's comments."

If you're posting an image because you'd like someone to see it, it behooves you to do it in such a way that makes it easier rather than harder to see...just as--if you're posting a written comment--you should do it in such a way that makes it easier rather than harder to read (i.e., using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc.)

BTW I'm using an HP laptop with an Intel i7 processor and Windows 10; I don't know offhand what version of Chrome I've got but I've always tried to keep it current. And images don't automatically resize for me, and I don't see any setting that will make that happen. But go ahead and do what you like, Jim, Scooter, et al...if I'm interested and have the time and inclination I'll open your image in a new tab; if not, not. The understood caption will be, "I like this image, but I don't care whether or not anyone else sees it." :shrug

P.S. The only time I'll post an oversized image myself is if I really can't find a smaller version...and when that's the case I'll often just decide not to post the image at all.

I'm now logged on with Google Chrome and Scooter's cartoon on page 122 is still much too large to view. I'm going to try Safari next.

Agreed. Three thumbs up for Firefox (now on Win/10.) It's been doing everything I need a browser to do for close to fifteen years... flawlessly IMHO.

Nine times (and counting) when Trump said he didn't say what he said:
  • ● John McCain
    ●  Megyn Kelly
    ●  Violence
    ●  Nukes for Japan
    ●  Cruz's dad and Lee Harvey Oswald
    ●  Disabled journalist Serge Kovaleski
    ●  Vladimir Putin
    ●  Russian hackers
    ●  Clinton and 2nd Amendment supporters

And he's got the balls to call Clinton "Lyin' Hillary"?

This interview with Michael Hayden was on Morning Joe a little while ago. He really hits the nail on the head discussing Drumpf's latest about Obama as the "founder" of ISIS, and how this rhetoric (that clearly attempts to imply that Obama is somehow in league with the terrorists; a vile lie) damages the legitimate policy argument that Obama's policies of withdrawal and inaction contributed to the rise and success of the terrorist group.

I agree with pretty much every word:

The Donald's claim about the founders of ISIS a vile lie? So what. His whole campaign has been a string of vile lies and it has made no difference to the public.

Too many politicos in both the GOP and the Dems have not thought through just what the Donald has accomplished. The news talkers are mostly no better. They all complain that the rules do not seem to apply to The Donald. And they don't.

The selection process for USofA president is not a fixed game with fixed rules. The first election I remember is Dewey/Truman. At that time there were NO primaries for president. The convention was a meeting of delegates in smoke filled rooms with little attention from the general public. Long before that there were NO secret ballots. The voter stood up in public and announced his (there were no women voting) choice where anybody could hear it. Since perhaps the 1964 election there has been more and more mass media coverage and the campaign has gone on longer and longer. It gets reported as if it were a track-and-field event with who is ahead today and who has momentum. There is a strong assumption that the way things were done in the last presidential election is the way it always was and always will be.

The Donald has changed the game. Of course the old rules do not apply. He can lie, support both sides of a controversy simultaneously with clear revealment of astounding ignorance and this is just evidence that he is not a flip-flopping politician, but he is HONEST, speaking his mind. And his base love him for it. When an interviewer thinks they have him pinned with contradictions or facts, the Donald does not try to work his way out of the corner. He just says You Are Weak. You are a loser. All politics are local? Not for the Donald. When does he show up for coffee at the local diner? He only does mass rallies and the Washington Post is not even allowed in.

All the sport cliches the political pundits have in their vocabulary are useless. The Donald is not playing NFL football or even NYC stickball.
It seems to me to be Borgia style politics with a strong dose of Idi Amin. The Dems better realize this quick. This is not an olympic sport. It is a knife fight. The first rule of a knife fight is there are no rules.
