Sounds like a quote from a Groucho Marx movie.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

The Miracle Worker

No, wait - The Princess Bride!
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I can guarantee you that it is not from the Princess Bride.  I have seen that movie so often (even more than "Breaking Away", "American Flyers", and "Field of Dreams" combined) that I can quote dialog forwards, backwards, and sideways.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Bill, I am certain that Meade intended those guesses as "humor" (or perhaps more accurately, "humor-like"... :P )

and not as a serious attempt to get the correct movie title...

But just for the record, that would be no and no....

You are swift, LJ!

Is it "The Railway Children"?

Or something with Lionel Jeffries directing children anyway.... odd isn't it - Lionel Trains and Lionel Jeffries

A more recognizable line from the same movie:

“I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.” ~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg, paraphrasing Sarah Moore Grimké

Yeah, that one would probably have been a little obvious...

Sort of in the same category of difficulty as "Houston, we have a problem" or "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn".... 8-)

If no one had gotten it, I had two more quotes lined up that should have made it pretty easy:
Thank you for playing "Should we or should we not follow the advice of the galactically stupid!"
I'm sorry, I keep forgetting. You were sick the day they taught law at law school.
Over to the Gentle Lady from Massachusetts...

You're like the thief who isn't the least bit sorry he stole, but is terribly, terribly sorry he's going to jail.

I've lost count of the number of times I've watched that one.

Let's see, something a bit newer:
-- I don't understand, where does all this come from? How do you get funding for something like this?
-- You don't actually think they spend $20,000 on a hammer, $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you?

It's my all time favorite. And the book is even better.
