It sounds like a parody of a murder mystery — like someone took a Sherlock Holmes story, an Agatha Christie novel, or any of the Charlie Chan movies and played it strictly for laughs.

And since much of this thread has referenced Gene Wilder over the past week, I'm going to stay on that path and ask if it isn't

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Is it "Clue"?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

It doesn't look like this is happening...

(I'm surprised more people aren't familiar with this one; it shows up on TV fairly regularly)

I'll take it tomorrow if no one gets it by then...(Big RR hasn't done one for a while, maybe he'll take it)

I'll leave it for you Jim; I honestly thought this would be a movie that would have been gotten much earlier.

One last clue.
DC: Be careful on this road. It's treacherous.
SW: Treacherous road like fresh mushroom. Must always...
[son drives car away from DC]
SW: Idiot! Not finish fresh mushroom story! Idiot!
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Not that regularly; I've never even heard of it.

I've heard of it, but never seen it; from the looks of it, I ought to remedy that situation soon.

It's a very funny flick, well written with an incredible cast:

What would happen if Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Sam Spade, Nick and Nora Charles, and Charlie Chan teamed up to solve a mystery? Well, no one really knows, but it might have been something like Neil Simon’s Murder by Death.

It would be bad form to arrive in advance of schedule. In the nick of time would do nicely.

We have a winner... :ok

ETA:

And speaking of an All Star Cast, this movie featured a yooge number of A List actors from the late 1970s:

Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Robert Redford, Gene Hackman, James Caan, Laurence Olivier, Liv Ullmann, Elliot Gould, Edward Fox, Anthony Hopkins, Maximilian Schell, Hardy Kruger, Dirk Bogarde...

And directed by Richard Attenborough...

Now that's a group I would have loved to have had lunch with on the set canteen...
