Result: You're Probably Not a Democrat
Sometimes you understand where people on the left are coming from, but you don't usually agree with them. In your eyes, the government has some role to play in society, but people should freely live their own lives. Like Sen. John McCain and former President Dwight Eisenhower, you're firm in your beliefs, but understand the world isn't black and white.
Likewise. And I'm OK with that; I know that I have held Republican leanings for far longer than the past couple of election cycles where I would vote for an alcohol-befuddled crackhead or the village idiot before I'd cast a ballot for a Republican candidate for anything.
And bad habits die hard

. In fact, if the Republicans had run anyone else but Trump, I might even have given him or her a look-see.
But then I look at what Governor Snottie Wanker and his tame Republican-controlled legislature has done
in to my home state of Wisconsin, as well as some of the other egregious acts proudly committed by Republicans — such as going six months
(and counting!) since President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to fill Antonin Scalia's vacant Supreme Court seat without taking any action whatsoever, wasting countless hours of time in Congress trying
(and failing — something like 65 times to date) to overturn the Affordable Care Act ('Obamacare'), and several incidents of governmental shut-downs because they wanted to hold their breath and turn blue in order to get their way — and I realize that as good as some Republicans might have been in the past, those people who call themselves Republicans today should probably be tarred, feathered, and ridden out of town on a rail.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
