Arnold Palmer, the Everyman 'King' of Golf, Dies at 87
Arnold Palmer, the pants-hitching, chain-smoking son of a greenskeeper who helped transform golf from an elite country club pursuit to a sport for the masses, winning every major honor the game has to offer along the way, has died at age 87, the U.S. Golf Association said Sunday.
Palmer, known as "the King," pursued a rivalry with Jack Nicklaus — whose nickname, "the Golden Bear," illustrated the differences in their styles and personalities — that thrilled fans for three decades.

Re: RIP Arnold Palmer
Arnold Palmer was one of the greatest golfers and a good person. He was a true gentleman in a gentleman's game.
Re: RIP Arnold Palmer
As well as the gentleman's game, he also played golf

Cricket is a gentle game. Golf is a gentleman's game...

RIP ARNIE
And by all accounts a great pilot, too.

Arnie was first in line to buy several new models of Cessna's jets, including the Citation Ten mentioned in the above article. He was no snob either, often talking to the folks on the assembly line who actually built his planes.
Same with Harrison Ford, but he's another story, and not dead yet.

Time to mix the iced tea and lemonade and say farewell to one of the best.

Anyone recall Arnold Palmer cleaning centers?

There was one in my neck of the woods back in the late '60's.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
