Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Home for Random Thoughts
It just randomly occurred to me that it's been a while since anyone posted a random thought...

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Has anyone actually tried hard to have a random thought?

A random thought is the work of the devil.
Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Is there some kind of conspiracy to put extra long shoelaces on all shoes that I buy? If I tie them like anyone should normally tie a shoe, part of the lace drags on the ground and becomes a hazard. If I tuck the excess into my shoe, it feels like I have a rock in my shoe. If I cut the laces to make them shorter, they get frayed, so I'm afrayed to cut them. Double knots are a hassle and they look funny.
They could save a lot of money putting the correct sized shorter laces on shoes - unless maybe they're banking on people buying the shorter ones to replace the originals which results in more shoelace sales.
Maybe that's it...

They use longer-than-necessary shoelaces originally so that when the laces inevitably break — and they always break when you're in a hurry and don't have time to go find another pair, right? — you can knot it together and it will still be long enough to fit.Joe Guy wrote:Is there some kind of conspiracy to put extra long shoelaces on all shoes that I buy? Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Re: Home for Random Thoughts
Joe, the idea is that you use just one really long lace to tie both shoes. It can be done. Then you have a spare lace for when the first one breaks.
