I guess you missed when I wrote this:

Do fat jokes/comments directed at Chris Cristie demean all men?
So we can only make fun of fat men. Fat women are off limits.
Got it. :shrug

Are you anticipating a large rash of attacks (verbal or physical) against women because (if) trump is elected?

And my daughter is a well adjusted young lady. At 27yo she has a good job, she bought her own house, works hard and has a great attitude. I don't see how a trump presidency would impact her attitude. Maybe the economy will change that would affect her (and all of us), but that has nothing to do with with his (real or imagined) sexism.

You would have thought with Obama the first black president that race relations would have gotten better. Instead the opposite is true.

...and guin..., making fun of a man s boyfriend is just deplorable.

if Hillary isn t responsible for bill s peccadillos why should trump be responsible for his boyfriend s actions?

I think that you insulting the boyfriend s of all men when you do that....

Has anybody ever done a study on wesw?  His "stream of consciousness" posts in which he hops from one short enigmatic phrase to another appears, at least to me, to have a strong similarity to Tourette's Syndrome, in which a person is plagued by sudden outburst of inappropriately obscene and vulgar language.  wesw, while not filling the board with filthy words, seems to have some sort of similar disorder that causes whatever might be on his mind, regardless of how little relevance it may have to the subject at hand or how incoherent or obscure it may be, to be expressed through his keyboard.

Have you not paid attention to the attacks on women and women's rights this last year? No, of course you haven't. Have you not heard Trump talk about "punishing" women for exercising their constitutional rights? No, of course you haven't. Do you think I'm only talking about fat jokes? Yes, of course you do.

Goodbye oldr, you're in the bin with wes (and Jarl). Be well.

ok, let s address the your lie that trump supports punishing women for abortions.

his comment came after an interviewer set up a tortured and almost impossible scenario where congress and the courts had outlawed abortion.

he caught trump up in a rapid fire back and forth, and badgered him into taking a position on this incredible hypothetical situation.

so trump said, that in this impossible scenario where congress and the courts had outlawed abortion, that there should be punishment for lawbreaking.

if you wish to dispute my account, dishonestly, I ll post the video..., unless google has made it impossible to find, which is likely.

Pure horseshit from wesw, as usual. Only after the interview did the Trump campaign come out with a statement that what he "really meant" was that if abortion were made illegal, then doctors should be punished for performing them, not the women who had the abortions -- which is completely at odds with what he said when Chris Matthews asked him point blank about his views. Here's the transcript, which wesw couldn't be bothered to locate with the simple Google search "trump abortion punishment," which for some reason also brings up dozens of videos of the interview that Google is hiding and making it impossible to find:
MATTHEWS: Should the woman be punished? For having an abortion?

TRUMP: Well look.

MATTHEWS: This is not something you can dodge.

TRUMP: It’s not—

MATTHEWS: If you say abortion is a crime or abortion is murder, you have to deal with it under the law. Should abortion be punished?

TRUMP: Well people in certain parts of the Republican party and conservatives Republicans would say, yes they should be punished.

MATTHEWS: How about you?

TRUMP: I would say that it’s a very serious problem and it’s a problem that we have to decide on. It’s very hard—

MATTHEWS: But you’re for banning it.

TRUMP: Are you going to say, well wait, are you going to say put them in jail? Is that the punishment you’re talking about?

MATTHEWS: No I’m asking you because you say you want to ban it. What does that mean?

TRUMP: I am against. I am pro-life. Yes. I am pro-life.

MATTHEWS: How do you ban abortion? How do you actually do it?

TRUMP: You know you’ll go back to a position like where they had where people perhaps will go to illegal places.

MATTHEWS: Yeah.

TRUMP: But you have to ban it. I’m against—

MATTHEWS: Yeah you ban it but they go to someone who flunked out of medical school and-

TRUMP: Are you Catholic?

MATTHEWS: Yes, I think I-I-I

TRUMP: And how do you feel about the Catholic church’s position?

MATTHEWS: I accept the teaching authority of my church on moral issues.

TRUMP: I know, but do you know what their position on abortion is?

MATTHEWS: Yes, I do.

TRUMP: And do you concur with that position?

MATTHEWS: I concur with their moral position but legally I want to get to the question—

TRUMP: No but let me ask you. What do you say about—

MATTHEWS: It’s not funny.

TRUMP: It’s really not funny. What do you say about your church? They’re very very strict.

MATTHEWS: The churches make their moral judgments, but you’re running for President of the United States to become Chief Executive of the United States. Do you believe in punishment for abortion, yes or no, as a principle?

TRUMP: The answer is there has to be some form of punishment.

MATTHEWS: For the woman?

TRUMP: Yes.

MATTHEWS: 10 cents, 10 years, what?

TRUMP: I don’t know. That I don’t know.

MATTHEWS: Well why not, you take positions on everything else.
Source.

ETA:

If you watch the video, it is even clearer that Trump had never even given any thought to the question at all, and is simply trying to make up something on the fly that will sell with what he thinks is his conservative base -- telling them what he thinks they want to hear without having any idea of the ramifications. It is a sterling example of why he is completely unfit for the job of President: he's wiling to shoot his mouth off on an issue he hasn't thought through, and then has to walk back the idiocy that just came out of his noise-hole.

EFTA:

As for wesw's claim that Trump's remarks came after Matthews had "set up a tortured and almost impossible scenario where congress and the courts had outlawed abortion," that is also total horseshit. The actual question came from an audience member and was as straightforward as possible:
QUESTION: Hello. I am (inaudible) and have a question on, what is your stance on women’s rights and their right to choose in their own reproductive health?

TRUMP: OK, well look, I mean, as you know, I’m pro-life. Right, I think you know that, and I -- with exceptions, with the three exceptions. But pretty much, that’s my stance. Is that OK? You understand?

MATTHEWS: What should the law be on abortion?

TRUMP: Well, I have been pro-life.

MATTHEWS: I know, what should the law -- I know your principle, that’s a good value. But what should be the law?

TRUMP: Well, you know, they’ve set the law and frankly the judges -- I mean, you’re going to have a very big election coming up for that reason, because you have judges where it’s a real tipping point.

MATTHEWS: I know.

TRUMP: And with the loss of (Supreme Court Justice Antonin) Scalia, who was a very strong conservative...

MATTHEWS: I understand.

TRUMP: ... this presidential election is going to be very important, because when you say, "what’s the law, nobody knows what the law’s going to be. It depends on who gets elected, because somebody is going to appoint conservative judges and somebody is going to appoint liberal judges, depending on who wins.

MATTHEWS: I know. I never understood the pro-life position.

TRUMP: Well, a lot of people do understand.

MATTHEWS: I never understood it. Because I understand the principle, it’s human life as people see it.

TRUMP: Which it is.

MATTHEWS: But what crime is it?

TRUMP: Well, it’s human life.

C'mon, Scooter, who you gonna believe? Wesw, or that lying video/transcript/your eyes?

As Mike Pence is finding out today, it's tough to say "He didn't say that" when he totally said that, on videotape.

This would be your opportunity to say, "Gee, now I can see I was wrong. I probably shouldn't make such claims until I check to see what the facts actually are."

And then the next time you feel the urge to spew forth, you go and look at the facts first. And then consider whether what you're going to say is actually supported by those facts. This is what we call "learning."

OK, for the half of Trump supporters that Hillary put in the basket of deplorable--last night Pence said that was a great insult to millions of Americans.

What about the 'basket' that Trump himself puts ALL his supporters--is it no insult to say that the Donald could stand in the middle of a busy street in a major city and shoot somebody, and it would not change a single one of his votes?

Please note that Hilary had two baskets for Trump supporters. The basket that I hope is getting attention from every politician--Dem or GOP, in office or seeking office at every level--is her other basket, the other half of Trump supporters.

" but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they’re just desperate for change. It doesn’t really even matter where it comes from. They don’t buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.” THAT is also what Hillary actually said, about the other half Trump supporters, not the deplorable.

Right, and her only mistake was saying 'half,' she later said.

But of course ALL of Trump's supporters fall into the 'basket of deplorables' because it is DEPLORABLE to support/vote for a xenophobic, racist, misogynistic, idiotic ASSHOLE for President.

I don't care how disaffected you are! :arg
