Source: Trump attempted boardroom kiss

(CNN)Donald Trump is under fire for his vulgar comments about women in an "Access Hollywood" tape -- and one woman alleges he exhibited similar behavior in at least one other incident.

A friend whom CNN anchor Erin Burnett has known for years recounted an experience she had with Trump in 2010 that echoes his words in the tape that surfaced Friday.

In March 2010, the woman -- who asked not to be identified -- met Trump in a boardroom in Trump Tower.
Another man -- a colleague of Burnett's friend -- was in the boardroom at the time of the incident.

The woman told Burnett: "Trump took Tic Tacs, suggested I take them also. He then leaned in, catching me off guard, and kissed me almost on lips. I was really freaked out. ... After (the meeting), Trump asked me to come into his office alone. Was really unsure what to do. ... Figured I could handle myself. Anyway, once in his office he kept telling me how special I am and gave me his cell, asked me to call him. I ran the hell out of there."

The Trump campaign has not responded to a request for comment.

The alleged incident mirrors Trump's own words in the 2005 "Access Hollywood" tape. Trump was talking about actress Arianne Zucker, who was waiting to escort Trump to a soap-opera set on which he was about to tape a cameo appearance.

"I've gotta use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her," Trump said. "You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful -- I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."

The woman Burnett knows said Friday that hearing Trump's line about Tic Tacs in the 2005 tape "just made me sick."

The other man who was in the boardroom in Trump Tower confirms the alleged 2010 exchange between Trump and the woman occurred.

Trump was married to Melania Trump at the time of the alleged 2010 incident.

Oh yeah we will be voting: https://driftingthrough.com/2016/10/06/ ... gry-women/
Dear Mr. Trump… can I call you Mr. Trump? Is that ok? I want you to be happy, that’s very important to me.

Before I get started, let me say this letter isn’t from all women. The Trumpettes surely won’t approve of this message. But this is from most women.

We see right through you. We have all known you at some point. Your ways are not unfamiliar to us. We see through you because we’ve been dealing with you our whole lives.

We heard you call women pigs. And disgusting. And stupid. And bimbos.

We watched as you called a former Ms. Universe “Ms. Piggy” and then spent four days continuing to insult her.

We see your weakness. Your lust for attention at any cost, your need to denigrate women. We see all of it. And we’re mad.

Yes. We’re mad. And fired up. And here’s the thing about us… we can be bitches.

Gone are the days where we question our power or our influence. We are strong. Smart. We know our worth and it doesn’t reside in the size of our bras or our skinny jeans. We build each other up. We have our sister’s backs. And our brother’s. So when you took on the former Ms. Universe, you took on all of us.

And right now you’ve got a lot of pissed off women to contend with. And let me remind you, Mr. Trump… hell hath no fury like a pissed off woman who’s tired of this sexist bullshit.

We heard you when you said we should “look for another place to work” if we experience workplace sexual harassment. Your non-solution illustrates either your lack of understanding or lack of concern. Or both. Your attitude and ignorance on this is stunning. Your response, pathetic. We see you, and we see someone who’s in over their head.

We watched you interrupt a woman 51 times during a 90 minute debate. While the better qualified, more knowledgeable woman was talking, you attempted to bulldoze right over her. We all know this game. It’s called male privilege. And it doesn’t look good on you, Mr. Trump. It makes you look weak. We see you, and we see a man who is so threatened by a woman speaking that you can’t even bear to let her finish. Sad.

And we see it rampant throughout your campaign and your proposed policies. It’s in your paltry maternity leave proposal that leaves out fathers and LGBTQ and adoptive parents. And when you say that women who seek abortions should be punished. And when you refuse to consider supporting equal pay for women.

Your latest ad, in which your daughter, beaming with privilege and pride, says “being a mother is the most important job a woman can have.” didn’t go over so well with us, Mr. Trump.

We are different, us women. We are not a homogenous army of fem-bots. We have different interests, goals and lives. There is more to us than motherhood. Some of us revel in motherhood. Some of us don’t want to have children. And some of us can’t have children. Our status as mothers has nothing to do with our worth. This ad, coupled with your policies show that you are tone deaf to the reality that women face and point to an antiquated attitude. One that keeps women as the caregivers and leaves men out of that equation.

We see you. And we see a man who has no business representing our interests in the Oval Office.

We heard you say no one would vote for Carly Fiorina “because of her face.”

We remember you calling women “a beautiful piece of ass” in Esquire Magazine.

We watch you say one thing, then say the opposite. Then refuse to admit any of it happened. Problem is, we can spot gas lighting from a mile away.

We recall the bit about all women being gold diggers in your memoir.

We cringe and hold our daughters a little closer when we are reminded that you said you’d date your daughter. If only she weren’t your daughter.

We remember when you called a lawyer “disgusting” for requesting a break during a trial to breastfeed.

We roll our eyes when we saw you try to dismiss Megyn Kelly after she had the nerve to ask you questions. At a debate. “Blood coming out of her wherever” was not lost on us. Most of us remember hearing such comments in Middle School.

We are horrified when we learn that you sent a journalist a picture of herself with the word “Dog” scrawled across it.

We seethe with anger when we read your tweet blaming military sexual assault on the fact that women are in the military.

We haven’t forgotten your lurid tweet about Hillary Clinton not being able to “satisfy” her husband.

Not only do you not understand women, you seem to have an awful lot of contempt for them. This is not fitting for a man who wants to be President in the 21st Century.

Which leads me to this:

Make America Great Again.

We know exactly what you meant when you branded yourself with this slogan. It’s not-so-coded language for a time gone by. Your “great” America wasn’t so great for women and minorities and gay people.

We won’t go back.

We won’t be relegated to the kitchen.

We won’t be locked into a life where we have no choice over our bodies or whether we have babies.

We won’t accept your patronizing response to sexual harassment.

We won’t be silenced or demeaned any more.

We won’t be ridiculed for our weight or judged by our appearance.

We won’t be shamed for owning our sexuality.

We have come a long way since your days of when America was “great.”

We have busted our asses to get here and we’re not going back.

We are raising strong daughters who fight back against sexist school dress codes.

We are raising strong sons who aren’t afraid of their feelings and aren’t afraid of strong girls.

We are shutting down catcalling.

We are no longer letting ourselves be interrupted and drowned out in the board room.

We are locking arms with our sisters in solidarity when rapists are given a slap on the wrist.

We are shouting about every day sexism.

We are calling you out, Mr. Trump.

We will not go quietly into any good night. We are loud. We are in your face. And we don’t put up with the kind of bullshit you’re selling.

So maybe this isn’t your time, Mr. Trump. Maybe your time has passed.

Maybe you would have been more suited to the 1920’s when women did not yet have the right to vote.

When marital rape was still legal.

Or the 1950’s when women largely stayed home and produced children and McCarthyism and blacklisting were acceptable.

Or perhaps 1930’s Germany would have been a better fit for you.

But now? Now is not your time.

We’re moving forward. All of us, smart men and women, have had enough of the tired gender roles. We’ve had enough of you and other weak, fearful men trying to stop progress.

We see you, Mr. Trump.

We see your sexism and your bigotry and your racism. We see right through you.

Remember. We can be bitches.

And bitches get shit done.

Bitches Vote.

See you on November 8

Paul Ryan appears to have located his gonads:
House Speaker Paul Ryan says Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is no longer attending an event with him scheduled for Saturday after a tape surfaced of Trump crudely saying he had open season to grope and kiss women because he was famous.

“Women are to be championed and revered, not objectified. I hope Mr. Trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than this clip suggests.”

Ryan added tartly that Trump was “no longer attending” a joint campaign appearance set for Saturday in Wisconsin.

A hearing has finally (just yesterday) been ordered for the woman's suit charging that Trump raped her when she was 13:
Federal Judge Orders Hearing in Donald Trump Rape Lawsuit

by Rachel Stockman | 12:34 pm, October 7th, 2016

Federal Judge Ronnie Abrams has ordered a December status conference hearing after a woman, who calls herself “Jane Doe,” filed a lawsuit claiming that Trump raped her when she was 13 years old in the 1990s. This is the third attempt the plaintiff has made in filing this particular lawsuit. Last Friday, she filed an amended complaint, with a new “witness” named “Joan Doe.” The plaintiff and witnesses in the case are using pseudonyms, they say, to protect their identities.

“In the 1994-95 school year, I was told by the plaintiff in Jane Doe v. Trump and Epstein (1:16-cv-04642, SDNY) that the plaintiff was subject to sexual contact by the Defendants at parties in New York City during the summer of 1994,” one of the witnesses said in a declaration.

The complaint alleges billionaire convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein had a woman pickup teenage girls for his famous parties. One of these girls was “Jane.” Another witness, “Tiffany,” who also provided an affidavit in the lawsuit, said she witnessed Trump and Epstein rape the plaintiff several times. Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations.

“As I have said before, the allegations are categorically untrue and an obvious publicity stunt aimed at smearing my client,” Alan Garten, Trump’s attorney, told LawNewz.com last week, “In the event we are actually served this time, we intend to move for sanctions for this frivolous filing.”

Judge Abrams (who also happens to be the sister of LawNewz.com founder Dan Abrams) has called for a status conference hearing on December 16, 2016 at 11:30 am at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She’s asked for both sides to provide information that could assist the Court in advancing the case to settlement or trial.
http://lawnewz.com/high-profile/federal ... suit-case/

I'm going to reserve judgement on that one, but in general I personally have had an inclination to treat as credible other sexual harassment and assualt allegations against him, based just on what I knew about his words and conduct well prior to the release of the tape yesterday...

My point is more about the political implications than my personal view. Because of that tape, a lot more people are likely to view these types of allegations against him more credibly than they might have previously.

And also because of that tape, the media antenna will now be fully up about this, (I saw the earlier charge from Jill Harth getting re-publicized on cable news today) and these types of allegations will now get much more media attention than they would have before.

What I'm really interested in seeing, is whether this tape will now embolden more women to come forward (as in the Cosby case) who previously hadn't before either because they thought they wouldn't be believed and/or they feared the wrath and financial burden of Trump's well known lawsuit intimidation operation...

I personally strongly suspect that given his attitudes towards women and his sense of entitlement regarding them, that Trump has probably harassed and assaulted numerous women over the years. I think the potential for more women coming forward now is pretty strong.

A growing list of Republicans call for Trump to step down

One day after video emerged of the Republican presidential nominee vulgarly bragging about forcing himself on women and one day before a likely pivotal presidential debate, the Republican Party faced this critical question: What could they do about Donald Trump?

Amid wide condemnation of comments Trump made in 2005, which he now says that he regrets, Rep. Martha Roby — who represents a strongly Republican district in Alabama — said she could no longer vote for Trump and she urged him to step down.

“As disappointed as I’ve been with his antics throughout this campaign, I thought supporting the nominee was the best thing for our country and our party,” Roby said in a statement. “Now, it is abundantly clear that the best thing for our country and for our party is for Trump to step aside and allow a responsible, respectable Republican to lead the ticket.” :ok

Roby is one of at least eight Republican members of Congress to directly call for Trump to step aside, [so far] along with former presidential candidates George E. Pataki, Jon Huntsman Jr. and Carly Fiorina. Often in cutting off support for Trump these Republicans have rallied around Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. Sen. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.) tweeted on Saturday morning that she would not vote for Trump and would instead write in Pence.

...On Saturday morning, it remained unclear whether that apology satisfied party leaders as the country waited to see what would happen next. Meanwhile, elected Republicans slowly started pulling their endorsements of Trump, and a few publicly called for him to step down.

On Friday night, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Utah), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, retracted his endorsement of Trump after discussing the issue with his wife and deciding that Trump’s comments were “intolerable.” Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert, who is also up for reelection, announced Friday night on Twitter that he could no longer support the top of the ticket. Ayotte, of New Hampshire, tweeted on Saturday morning that she would not vote for Trump.

“I cannot and will not support a candidate for president who brags about degrading and assaulting women,” Ayotte said in a statement, adding that she will write in Pence.

Republicans who have long fought Trump’s candidacy — or avoided taking a stance — erupted in anger, demanding that Trump finally step aside.

Kirk, of Illinois, who unendorsed Trump in June and is running an uphill reelection race, called on Trump to drop out so that the party could “engage rules for emergency replacement.” Lee, of Utah, one of very few Republican senators who never endorsed Trump, called for the nominee to “step aside” and asked conservatives to find a new candidate.

“It’s occurred to me on countless occasions today that if anyone spoke to my wife, my daughter, my mother or any of my five sisters the way Mr. Trump has spoken to women, I wouldn’t hire that person. I wouldn’t hire that person, wouldn’t want to be associated with that person,” Lee said in a video filmed at his home in Utah. “And, I certainly don’t think I would feel comfortable hiring that person to be the leader of the free world.”

Fiorina, a former technology company chief executive who unsuccessfully ran for president, said on Saturday morning that “Trump does not represent me or my party.” She called on Trump to “step aside” and for the party to replace him with Pence.

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.) said in a statement that “the appropriate next step may be for him to reexamine his candidacy.”

Trump said in a statement that he planned to spend Saturday preparing for Sunday’s presidential debate with the help of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Jeff Sessions (Ala.) and GOP chairman Reince Priebus, who on Friday said that no one should ever talk about women the way that Trump did in 2005.

My greatest fear now is that Trump will drop out of the race.

But REALLY!

“The Official Home for Women Who Support Donald Trump”
WOMEN VOTE SMART. WOMEN VOTE TRUMP.

“They” keep saying that women don’t support Donald Trump.
“They” say he isn’t good for women or our families.
“They” say we’re supposed to vote for Hillary Clinton because we share the same body parts.
BUT “THEY” ARE WRONG!

There are millions of women who support Donald Trump and we’re not standing in the shadows anymore! We won’t be pushed around by bullies who tell us who we are “supposed” to like. And we’re not going to keep quiet just because the Washington DC power elites want us to!
TAKE THE PLEDGE

I support Donald Trump for President:

He thinks outside the box and tells it like it is…he’s genuine and I think that’s a breath of fresh air;
He has the brains, drive and determination to be successful;
He takes action, and gets things done in the real world;
He will keep my family safe from outside threats & illegal immigration;
And I know he will shake up the status quo in Washington and put our country ahead of partisan politics.

He’s exactly what our country needs!

A few minutes ago, South Dakota Senator John Thune became the first member of the GOP Congressional leadership to call on Trump to withdraw:
No. 3 GOP Senate leader says Trump should withdraw

The Senate's no. 3 Republican is calling on Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race following leaked audio of the GOP nominee making lewd sexual comments about women in 2005 .

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) tweeted on Saturday that Trump "should withdraw and Mike Pence should be our nominee effective immediately."

Thune, Republican Conference Chairman and chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, joins a growing chorus of Republicans calling on Trump to be replaced by Pence on the GOP presidential ticket.

Trump on Saturday said there's "zero chance" he will leave the race.

The top Republican in the Senate, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), has not called for Trump to leave the race. Late Friday night, he issued a statement calling Trump's remarks "repugnant and unacceptable in any circumstance."

"As the father of three daughters, I strongly believe that Trump needs to apologize directly to women and girls everywhere, and take full responsibility for the utter lack of respect for women shown in his comments on that tape," McConnell said in a statement.

On the tape, Trump boasts about his aggressive handling of women, who he said will let him do anything because he's a celebrity.
http://64.147.104.30/blogs/ballot-box/p ... d-withdraw

I think we'll continue to see a steady trickle of unendorsements and calls for Trump to resign from the ticket through-out today and tomorrow...

And if Trump has another awful debate performance Sunday night on top of this, by Monday the trickle could turn into a flood...

Donald, you stand strong. ZERO. CHANCE. OF. QUITTING! Don't be talked down from that position.

The GOP needs to swallow the nastiness they gave rise to. And frankly this country needs to make the choice between Donald and Hillary, because it's become a metaphor for the old disgusting racist misogynistic past v. a future of tolerance and acceptance.

Pence is no less misogynistic just because he doesn't grab women by the pussy - because he believes he has the right to control what they do with their vaginas, wombs, etc. Pence is a monster of a different kind and his willingness to defend and lie for Trump makes him equally unfit to serve.

Good luck with that LJ, I believe it is too late to get anyone else on the ballot in most states.

Don't you think the best thing for the Republicans at this point is total defeat and utter humiliation, so they never do this again, and more importantly, the racists, misogynists, and haters are put back where they belong (although I'm not opining on where that is).

Here's a scary thought. I have a gut feeling that this latest sexual assault by Trump may, in fact, push him further into the psychotic abyss and he'll finally be forced to quite the race. And to that I say good riddance to bad rubbish. (Bill Cosby and Donald Trump... perfect together.)

Unfortunately, being so close to November 8th, I fear that will somehow allow Pence to ascend to the top spot on the Repub ticket. If this happens I'm sure the Repubs now on the fence will wholeheartedly rally behind their new champion and, with the margins so close in the race, will propel their party to victory.

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/10 ... e-Nomineee

I now feel I need to find religion and pray to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that He gives Trump the wisdom and courage to stay the course and take the scourging he is destined for on election day.

"Hear Our Prayer, O Lord. Hear our prayer, O Lord, Hear our prayer, O Lord; Incline Thine ear to us, And grant us Thy assurance that Donald J. Trump fulfills his sacred mission. We beseech you, O Lord."

Oh, and God Bless America!

makes him equally unfit to serve.
I have to disagree...

NO ONE is equally unfit to Donald Trump to serve as President...

If this miracle were to occur, I'd have to give it some more thought, but my initial inclination would be to vote for Pence...

He would have been far from my first choice, and he's definitely to my right on the social issues....but as I've pointed out before those are areas where Presidents have very little power...

In the areas where Presidents have enormous power (foreign affairs, national defense and national security) Pence made pretty clear in the debate last Tuesday, (and his record supports this) that his positions are well within the mainstream of Republican and conservative orthodoxy, (unlike Trump's)

The biggest hurdle I would have to get over in order to make a definite decision to support Pence would of course be his willingness to become Trump's running mate in the first place....

That would be tough for me to swallow, but then this election season has been one where I have had a lot of experience swallowing tough things (in order to support Hillary) so it might be doable....

ETA:
Good luck with that LJ, I believe it is too late to get anyone else on the ballot in most states.
Yes, but that doesn't matter because as you know when it comes to the Presidency, people don't really vote for the name on the ballot...

They vote for a slate of Electors (who are picked by the respective parties) who are pledged to support the nominee of that party...

If the nominee is someone other than the name that appears on the ballot, this process is not effected...

If Donald Trump were to drop dead, (and if he resigns from the ticket the practical effect on the election is the same) the Republican Party would still be able to field a nominee for the electoral votes of any state where it has qualified to field a slate. (Which of course would be all of them)

Alaska Sens. Sullivan and Murkowski call on Donald Trump to drop out of presidential race

Alaska Republican Sens. Dan Sullivan and Lisa Murkowski on Saturday called for Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race after release of a tape on Friday in which he spoke of women in vulgar sexual terms.

Sullivan released a statement Saturday morning that said, "Donald Trump should step aside. I will support Governor Mike Pence for President."

Several minutes later, Murkowski posting on Twitter: "I cannot and will not support Donald Trump for president. He has forfeited the right to be our party's nominee."
