Yes it was. I went over my daughters to do some work and she didn't have power. I was going to do some moulding around the archway, but without power I could not use my chop saw and I didn't bring my back saw and miter box.

I did get the pool covered before the rain on saturday, so the weekend wasn't a total washout.

Yes, they (the Giants) have them right where they want them.

Tonite at 6pm (DST) the Giants must win the next 3 from the Cubs or face elimination.

They're playing at home so this might be all they need to dig themselves out of the hole.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Congrats Meade, don't rub it in, I'm still crying. Wish Big Papi could have had one more shot at the Series, just for the fun of it.

From the wifi hotspot at the Chichester Hotel, Wickford, Essex

So we won did we? Been out of touch 'til now. Mighty Papi (along with the team) has struck out?

No. I wouldn't rub that in...  :ok :nana :o

Helluva game...a real roller coaster...
The Cubs and Giants went at it in Game 3 of the NLDS at AT&T Park, and the Giants didn't ensure their survival until they walked it off in the 13th inning (SF 6, CHC 5). The Cubs coming were up 2-0 in the best-of-five series, so the Giants' being on the brink of elimination added to a night full of tension.

Why so much regret that 'Big Papi' (is that like a 'Big Gulp' at the 7-Eleven?) didn't get one more shot at the Series?  After all, he already has three World Championship rings.

Instead, let's see some love or regrets for some of those great Cubs players of the past — guys like Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Ryne Sandberg, Bill Buchner, and so many others — who had Hall of Fame-worthy careers in the Windy City but never even got ONE shot at the Series.

Seriously, I would have *KILLED* to hear Harry Carey lead the crowd in "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch of Game 7 in a down-to-the-wire World Series featuring the Northsiders.

I love my team and I love David Ortiz, BB. Simple as that.

Since they're out of it, now I can cheer for the Cubs without guilt. At least I still give a shit about baseball this year post-Sox, that's something!

I've been kind of a Cubs fan ever since the Brewers came to Wisconsin and I started to give a shit about baseball again, but since the Brew Crew was in the AL the Cubbies were always my guys in the NL.... and since the Brewers never even made it to the off-season, I can still hope that the Northsiders are finally able to beat the curse this year.

But now I find myself in a bit of a quandary.  The Gnats are playing the deciding game of the NLDS on Thursday, and Washington's ace, 20-game winner Max Scherzer, is scheduled to start.  And there is a bit of a connection between #31 and my hometown; back in 2004 Scherzer was a relief pitcher for our wooden-bat, college-level summer league team (the La Crosse Loggers) and posted a 2-1 record with 6 saves, 1.81 ERA, and 50 Ks in only 33 innings of work.

So I hope he has a good outing on Thursday, and if Washington wins and faces off against the Cubs in the NLCS, I don't know for sure who I'm going to be pulling for.

I would LOVE to see the Cubs go all the way (they sure as hell deserve it)!

No Os, No Os, No Sox, I'm just thankful for football and that Brady is back and on a mission!

I'd root for the Chicago Theos but since MLB has totally sold out to the cable companies, I can't watch those games. Cleveland v. Toronto will be a total snooze fest, but I can at least watch the ALCS on TBS via my FireTV.

Nats lose; it's the Dodgers vs the Cubs for the National League pennant.
