The NL doesn't have the pussy DH rule like the junior league does!

Jason Kipnis - HR! Indians lead 3-2. I've heard of the National League - that's the one where the pitchers have to keep being substituted because they are fragile and tired, right?

Al will always be the "junior league" having not been in existence as long as the NL.

The Indians seem to be catching the Lebron Cleveland contagion . . . winning. The Browns appear to have built up an immunity, maybe it migrated to Baltimore.

Fox Sport was interviewing Bernie Kosar yesterday. He was asked how he thought his 86/87 Browns would match up against the 2016 Browns. He replied they'd probably win by 7 or 8 points. "But you had a great team; why so few points?" asked the interviewer. "Well," said Bernie, "we are all a lot older now"

CNN: The Cleveland Indians advanced to the World Series, shutting out the Toronto Blue Jays 3-0 Wednesday to win the American League Championship Series.
The Indians will play the eventual other league victim on Tuesday in Cleveland in the first game of the World Series. Somebody leads the Or Others by two games to one in the series for the forgettable league crown. The also-rans play the fourth game of the series Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET at Somebody Stadium.
Cleveland won the ALCS four games to one. The Indians haven't played in the World Series since 1997, when they lost to the then-Florida Marlins. The team hasn't won the World Series since 1948, when Cleveland beat the then-Boston Braves.

You know — Cleveland should bring back as many members of the cast of "Major League" as possible for at least one night during the Fall Classic. Maybe introduce them and let them stand at their character's position (along with the real players) during the pre-game introductions or something like that.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Wesley Snipes or Omar Epps?
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I'll root for the Indians if God Forbid, the denizens of Minas Morgul (ie The Los Angeles Dodgers) prevail over the Cubs...
But frankly, I fear for the health of Clevelandites if the Indians win the World Series....
Having two national championships in the same year will probably result in a huge uptick in instances of cardiac arrest...

So, just because until now you haven't been all that clear, are you trying to tell us that you're a less than enthusiastic fan of the L.A. Dodgers?the denizens of Minas Morgul

One of the requirements for being accepted in San Francisco is hatred for the LA Dodgers. Jim doesn't meet most SF qualifications but he does meet that one.

It would be fair to say not overly enthusiastic..Scooter wrote:So, just because until now you haven't been all that clear, are you trying to tell us that you're a less than enthusiastic fan of the L.A. Dodgers?the denizens of Minas Morgul

Yes, I too am a Cubs hopeful. But all the 'major' sports have become ridiculous with the extended playoffs. More money more TV seems to be the mantra. Will the series have even one day game?

I remember sneaking a transister radio into catholic grammar school so we could listen to the games as they were played during the day way back then. Depending on where you sat in class, the earplug would go in the ear away from the teacher. Spontanious cheering was always a problem.
