I think I am the only person in my neighborhood who parks a car in their garage (and most houses do have garages).People with GARAGES parking their cars on the SIDEWALK?
We do not have sidewalks, but planty of people park on the grass that ubuts the street. I put 1/4" steel rods (4' long) with reflectors on them to stop people from parking on my front grass. Not because I care about my lawn (aka crabgrass, dandilions and clover), but because the tires sink in just off the roadway and cause ruts which become mud puddles when it rains.
I can't see any pictures but if it's a big (aka wide) truck, even parked the legal distance fom the curb it is going to stick out farther than a car.
My wife gets upset when people park their car in front of my house. I have over 100feet of frontage so never is there not enough room for me to park on the street.
And the only time I park on the street is when I know I am going out again that day, otherwise it is in the driveway (the wifes car gets the garage).
Where there are sidewalks, the homeowner is usually responsible for the upkeep of the sidewalk but does not "own" it. Parking on sidwalks is prohibited in most towns/villages.
My biggest beef with parking is that people should park in the correct direction, something that seems to not be enforced here in suffolk county.
