I never figured the trump had much of a chance of winning; it is tough for a Republican to win even if he does everything right. I would not care if the savior was a republican or a democrat. I want someone to do something before it too late . Unfortunately the kind of things that the Bitch and her sycophant in congress might do would be thing like this: A guest worker program where Mexican technicians swap places with an alternate worker rotating in and out of the country a week or two on and a week or two off . In her evil mind that would make the country so much richer by reducing the pay of blue collar technicians. She won’t do anything about the nation debt, the industrial decline or national defense. She wants to get all of our nukes and battlefield nukes are the only way we can oppose a Russian army. If Putin is willing to pay the economic cost there is no way this country can stop him from taking the Baltic States without tactical nuclear weapons.

I believe there is an allies force of four thousand troops available to counter the Russians in that area, only a thousand of them are US. Osama has no problem sending Americans into a sausage grinder. Four thousand! :shrug

Four thousand would be enough if one was willing to use nukes as a backup, but no modern democrats president has the courage to do that.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

How many American truck drivers will lose their jobs? I am sure you don’t care.

https://www.wilsoncenter.org/article/be ... ted-states

The opening of the United States to freight trucking companies from Mexico will change the border and its competitiveness.
Mexico must always demand the rule of law and compliance with commitments.
On Friday, January 9, 2015, the United States Department of Transportation made an important announcement that has not received the recognition it deserves: the Department of Transportation will begin to process applications of Mexican land freight trucking companies wishing to provide international services in the United States.

Within the next decade or two the U.S. will likely lose way more truck driving jobs to autonomous self-driving trucks than ever have or will be lost to Mexican trucking companies.

That's a good sign, there!

Historically, Dixville Notch has usually gone Republican:
  • 1960 - Nixon 9, Kennedy 0
    1964 - Goldwater 8, Johnson 1
    1968 - Humphrey 8, Nixon 4
    1972 - Nixon 16, McGovern 3
    1976 - Ford16, Carter 11, McCarthy 1
    1980 - Reagan 17, Carter 3, Anderson 2, Clark 1
    1984 - Reagan 29, Mondale 1
    1988 - Bush 34, Dukakis 3, Kemp 1
    1992 - Bush 15, Perot 8, Marrou 5, Clinton 2
    1996 - Dole 18, Clinton 8, Perot 1, Browne 1
    2000 - Bush 21, Gore 5, Nader 1
    2004 - Bush 19, Kerry 7
    2008 - Obama 15, McCain 6 (!!!!!!!!!!)
    2012 - Obama 5, Romney 5

There were about 30 good citizens in line which was more than I have ever seen at once, whether at my old suburban polling place or my current and somewhat rural place. The Dems information table was the most crowded but they had a better selection of pastries and coffee and tea.

This will be interesting.

Wow ! I hope Colorado has lots of early voters. That long list means longer time in the voting booth. Delaware does not have early voting and I just got back. Our precinct has lots of older people and that means proportionately more voters. Eight machines in use today, and only one person as an observer/challenger. We have four parties to choose from--GOP, Dems, Libertarian, Green. And one more on the ballot with no candidates, the Independent Party of Delaware. I think that means they produced enuff voters in the election four years ago to get on the ballot, but in the meantime the organization has faded away.

I am taking a nap this afternoon so I can manage to stay up tonite.

Turnout seems to be pretty high in my precinct--I voted around 2 hours after the polls opened and was listed as Voter 150 (on the P-Z half of the precinct); in and ordinary presidential election year I would be around 60-75 (I usually vote around the same time every year). I'd be interested to see turnout across the country.

I'm wearing my pantsuit and planning to vote after work; I tried early voting twice, but the lines were too long and I hadn't planned enough time to accommodate that because when my cousins went they said it was a short line and only took 20 minutes.

Anyway, I'm kinda glad to be voting today, I love the feeling of being at the polling place on Election Day with all the buzz and anticipation. I voted absentee in 2014 because I didn't want that, living in such a right wing conservative place as I did with people chattering about the N in the White House, etc. :(

Last night coming home from my shift with my lovely 98-yr-old hospice client, I dialed up Helen Reddy on the iPhone, put the earphones in, and sang at the top of my voice with "I Am Woman" on repeat. I grew up listening to that song, it was my mom's favorite album. I thought about the little girl who was teased by the neighborhood boys for being a "women's libber" for ERA in the 70s, and how she grew up to follow her idealism into a profession full of women but still very sexist, and how she faced sexual harassment in law school and in various professional positions afterward until her spirit was nearly broken by a stint in redneck America where she was attacked and beaten down merely for being a woman with the gall to try to serve and lead.

Well she's not broken; she's back in the bosom of her idealism and she's gonna REALLY enjoy living in an America that believes LOVE TRUMPS HATE!

Cheating will not be tolerated.
See, that's why we need to go back to the voting booth with the levers and the curtain.
Cardboard surrounding a podium is no way to vote.

And I wonder if there is a camera up on the wall like there is in many school gyms.
