Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

Post by Guinevere »

Laughing my ass off at Trump's transition team appointments. Packed full of K Street lobbyists (that's the term the Trumpanzees use to denigrate those folks, right) and Wall Street executives. Does "Goldman Sachs" right any bells? At least two GS partners are right there. Plus lobbyists for Halliburton, Cheney's old company that polluted the Gulf hand in hand with BP, and made billions off of the Iraq war, plus folks who lobby for Lucas Oil and for the tobacco industry.

And Lizzie Warren is calling him on it, while the Republicans stand by in mute submission. Or maybe that's the way they really wanted it anyway......

Ya think? Now if they can only get rid of Trump; maybe Hinkley's impending release is not a coincidence.

Not impending; he's been out since early September.

I wasn't sure whether he was out or not--watch for him at Trump rallies.

MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN

Stephen Bannon

I wonder how long Pence is going to allow Drumpf to hold on to this despicable piece of garbage? I'm hoping that the gesture was mostly symbolic and Bannon will be gone shortly after Inauguration Day.

I don't know--Pence is running the transition team now, so he must have endorsed (or at least not opposed) it; I wouldn't expect much more from him.

Proving that Trump voters, 90% Republican voters, are too stupid to even be able to vote in favor of their own interests, again.

Here's how my home state voted, town by town:

http://www.wbur.org/politicker/2016/11/ ... ection-map

I'm in southeastern MA, and my town went light blue - 51.9% Hillary, 42.2% Trump. I'm pretty sad to see how close it was, I was hoping for a much darker shade of blue. Maybe someday I'll be able to afford to live closer to Boston or on the outermost Cape or the Islands, where truly sane people live.

BUT, at least I'm not in dark red Broadwater County, Montana anymore - there it was 75.1% Trump v. 18.2% Clinton. No wonder I was so freaking miserable living there!

What about where you live?

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

As an "outsider" contractor the new guy may be draining the swamp of its brackish water but he's obviously keeping every "insider" creature that's found under the muck and mire and slime.

Here's one of Drumpf's new inner circle ushering in an interviewee for the office steno pool.

What is it that you guys wanted Hilary do after she was elected? Did you just want her to be the first female president? Is there problem you wanted her t fix?
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Well, what is Trump going to do other than be the first person elected to the highest office of what is arguably the most powerful and influential nation in the world who has absolutely no experience in motivating and leading people in any military role (playing soldier-boy at a private military school, one he was sent to as a disciplinary measure, doesn't count) or representing them in any political one?  I keep waiting to hear something, anything, but it's been a week and it still hasn't been forthcoming.

Your party created and elected Trump.

I'm not hearing the kind of acknowledgement that suggests a morally adult response.

Bitch.

But then you never acknowledged the harm caused by BushCo, the worst economic collapse in 80 years, starting a war based on lies which created ISIS, the worst economy for the middle class since before FDR.

Well I'll fix your spelling first. It's Hillary.

As for what I wanted her to do;

maintain and improve the ACA
get the country and the world serious about addressing climate change
maintain some sort of civility in politics
make sure the rich fuckers like DJ Trump pay their fucking taxes
bring the country's infrastructure into the twentieth century before it's too late
get SCOTUS up to strength

That'll do for a start.

hmmm....

no more lobbyists....

...and a 5 yr moratorium on lobbying after serving in a trump admin.

plus Christie and all his crooked cronies were allowed to show themselves, then were un ceremoniusly shuffled out.

sounds like the sucking sound of a swamp slowly draining....

I m laughing my ass off..., figuratively of course, this is no laughing matter, this thing we are doing. it is deadly serious and hold on to your hats because it s gonna blow a fell wind, this thing we are doing.

it is nothing less than revolution, as our founders envisioned it.

planned upheaval.

I fear that the tree of liberty will drink. when I see your responses, and see your rejection of democracy and a govt of, for and by the people, I fear bloodshed.

do not reject our democracy, for if it falls there will be suffering.

go to sam s club and buy water and non perishables in bulk if you choose to reject our constitional republic and its tenets. it is still well beloved and will not be given up easily.
