Ice-T hasn't done a true rap show appearance in quite some time. However, he has been a weekly cast member on Law & Order SVU (NBC) since its inception in 1999. He also does voice over on a lot of movies, cartoons, and commercials.

FYI: I got the Ice-T GEICO commercial the first time I saw it. I think it's one of the funniest 10 second ad campaigns out there.

there is a Comcast commercial that shows a restaurant owner saying that she has put her size 9 shoes thru the kitchen doors for 10 yrs now.....

...and she is shown going thru the door, kicking it open with hot plates in her hands.

how fake can you get?

you ALWAYS back thru the swinging kitchen doors, or else you get your face bashed in and spill every thing you are carrying.

sometimes I miss that feeling you get when you are making a critical weld or a difficult burn and you get some slag that goes down your glove or your boot or lays on your shirt or pants and slowly burns you...., but you just keep going because it will cost time and money if you have to stop and re start..., and besides, you re an ironworker....

....so you just bear it and keep on keeping on...., the smell of steak in your nostrils.....

I never really learned to weld. I did it a but when me and my buddies were making a beach buggy out of an old volkswagon. Wasn't very good at it. Some day.

yeah, welding isn t my idea of a good time. I welded when I needed to but mostly I just tacked up what I had fabricated and sent it down to the welders.....

welding is tedious and the fumes are unhealthy.

I really need a good , small welding machine tho....

I got trucks to modify and repair.

I need a set of torches too....

I have been working with wood, almost exclusively since I left the steel shop, except for vehicle repairs.

I need a tablesaw too, and a new chopsaw..., mine is old and worn out.

I like wood now. it isn t heavy, you don t have to grind it. it grows on trees....

i don t have the same skills with wood as i do with steel, but that s ok, something new is good sometimes.

I really like working with the wood from the roughcut oak pallets I get sometimes.

the wood is not straight or consistent, but it is really aesthetically pleasing in appearance.

when working with steel, I d build a jig for assemblies and fit everything and lock it all square, taking out all the little imperfections of the shapes.

with the roughcut wood I kinda let it flow where it will and I try to have it come square where it counts.

you end up with something that is crooked in appearance, but sits square in the important ways, and is strong, structurally.

it is kinda hard to do.

my problem is that I m not educated in the proper way to join wood, but I manage.

I need to do more and maybe try to sell some stuff, I need some better tools to be efficient tho...

Harbor Freight actually has decent wire-feed welders.

yeah, I m worried about the designed obsolescence in today s products.

industrial quality (and cost) is really the only way to go for me.

if I could find an old Lincoln tombstone "farm welder" I would be happy with that.

I really don t need a wire feeder.

at this point simplicity and dependability trump efficiency, for me.

my son has a little wire feeder and it just seems like a toy to me.....

little baby wire and little baby gun......

I m more accustomed to to 300-600 amp machines......

I have been researching Lincoln welders a bit.

I can get the size I want at lowes for 300 bucks or so.....

....but the same welder (in appearance), in the industrial model, is like 1000 bucks more......

depends if you want it to last 10 yrs or 50 yrs.......

I m better off finding an old good one.

Anyone else who posts about welding must be banished to "Hardware" where the other nerds hang out. This is as bad as endless Youtube videos, right CP?
