TIME Magazine "Person of the Year"

Yeah, you guessed it — Dumb'old Trump.

However, in all fairness, when you read what it is upon which they base this designation — "... the person who had the greatest influence, for better or worse, on the events of the year ... "(emphasis mine) I find it hard to disagree with the selection.

And when I look at the rest of their "short list":
  • ● HILLARY CLINTON
    ● THE HACKERS
    ● RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN
    ● THE CRISPR PIONEERS
    ● BEYONCÉ
I can be grateful that Trump at least beat out Beyoncé.

I recall also that TIME magazine is no stranger to choosing controversial figures as their "Person of the Year". Remember back in 1938 when they selected this guy?

Or a year later, when they chose this world figure .... not just once, but again in 1942?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Don't forget:

But of course Drumpf, with his usual penchant for blatantly misstating the truth has called his selection "a great honor"...

I don't know if this claim is a result of his ignorance or his dishonesty...

With Trumpty it's frequently tough to tell; he's displayed an enormous facility for both...

But, that having been said...
in all fairness, when you read what it is upon which they base this designation — "... the person who had the greatest influence, for better or worse, on the events of the year ... I find it hard to disagree with the selection.
That's certainly correct; it would have been very strange given that criteria for anyone else to have gotten it...

Whoever the second choice would be isn't even close; it's no contest...

Y'all wouldn't be able to post here without this contraption:

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

They once awarded it to 'YOU' in acknowledgment of YouTube and the individual's impact on the internet and the public exchange of ideas.
