That's true, a year ago you were trumpeting John Kasich for president (or was it Ben Carson, or Michele Bachmann) and deriding Trump as a poser and a fool. You sure learned quickly how to turn lemons into lemonade.

That was a really weird switch...

What kind of "thought process" does a person got through that leads them to decide, "I think I'll switch from supporting the most qualified, most thoughtful, and most civil candidate to supporting the least qualified, least thoughtful, and least civil candidate." :loon

My suspicion is that when he said he was supporting Kasich he knew nothing about him except that he was the Governor of Ohio, and just decided to support him because he'd never heard of him before and didn't realize how experienced he was...(Inexperience being an important qualification for the Presidency in wes' view)

Let's not forget that he was referring to Trump as "the Manchurian candidate" before joining the Trump cult. It would appear that wes was being prophetic in that pronouncement.

don t cut off the country s nose to spite it s face, man...

c'mon, man...

it is getting to the point where you are hurting your country.

you and rosie o donnel agree on martial law? is that the company you want to keep?

voting for Clinton? what the hell?????

you think that she is guilty of so much, yet you vote for her????

my god , man, look at trump s cabinet picks....

can t you even admit that they are an impressive bunch of first class, "git 'er done" type "A" people????

man..., he is setting the wheels in motion for action.

throw off the shackles of globalization and propping up of govts and ideologies that want to destroy the great experiment that is America.

throw off the shackles , man.

do you really want to be the one supporting people who call people like me homophobic, racist, misogynistic, facist, Nazis?

do you really believe that of me and blue collar construction types all over this land?

you sadden me. john lewis saddened me.

gosh darn it. you are on scooter s team....

(wes sighs in frustration)

...and you too RR and Guin...

you are better than petty. dammit...

Let's review some of what wes has had to say about Trump:
a blind squirrel
I would certainly not want a loose cannon like trump to be president
the whole Manchurian candidate thing is depressing
very few would trust him , with his spitefulness, to be president
full of crap
the Manchurian candidate
don t waste your energy on trump
this is the moment that finally sunk the good ship Trump
he is not genuine
I don t know what makes you think that I am a trump supporter, I m not
Kasich is the only politician who is running who(m) I consider qualified
I am becoming more convinced that he is some kind of democrat plant. official destroyer of repubs.
I m not a trump fan
if I didn t think that trump would get all power happy and dictatorial I would support him just to shake things up. it s a shame that he is so in love with himself.

anyway, I m still not convinced that he isn t some Manchurian candidate or stalking horse for Hillary.
I don t think that I trust him
I just worry about megalomania and another imperial presidency
Trump is far from desirable, and very scary,
oh man, did I just say that I may vote for trump?

shoot me, shoot me now....
And my personal favourite:
trump reminds me of hugo Chavez
There's more where that came from, but you get the idea.

jim, I really hope that you will read this thread after the point where you began to ignore me.

I kept talking to you.

and in between the silliness and memes I tried to make coherent points just for you.

I haven t reviewed it but I remember doing it.

You never cease to amuse me, Wes.

Just taking one of those random 'thoughts':
hopefully we ll all live to see jim say that trump is doing a good job.
Actually I hope we see the day when Jim (and everyone on this board) says that Trump is doing a good job.

Personally I don't think it's going to happen. But if he does, for example, have a substitute for the ACA which will provide decent health insurance at a decent price for (say) 30 million of the previously uninsured, please feel free to remind me of this post and that I promised to applaud. Because I will. I don't think we will see many of the 'anyone but Trump' brigade playing the McConnell card.

In the same way I hope that Trump is right about climate change and I have been wrong all these years.

thank you andy, you made me smile.

here s to hoping...

as I said earlier in this thread, trump scares me to death.

I don t see a smooth road ahead. I see strife and civil unrest and war.

I see the alternative as the perishing from this earth of a govt for the people of the people by the people.

good men may be fooled, and I may be, but I can only follow the path I see as right and hope that I am not wrong..

so, for now, I am a trumpeter , and I sound loudly across the land.

the definition of trump and drumtf is "wildcard"..., take it for what it is worth.

You actually hope that we have been that wrong about the basic science? So we can't really do basic thermodynamics, We've just been living in a collective delusion all this time?

I find that idea much more disturbing.

Wow Rube you are easily disturbed.

I thought that I made it clear that that I gave a similar likelihood to Trump having a good alternative to ACA (which I would applaud if it were true) to the idea that our understanding of basic concepts in thermodynamics and molecular spectroscopy (e.g., the C=O stretch) had been wrong for all these years.

To put another way P (E) ≈ 0. Hope this helps.

A point to ponder ......
The last time America voted to reject the political status quo, "throw the bastards out", and start fresh we ended up with Jimmy Carter — who quite frankly found himself in a position for which he was not completely prepared, and for years afterward has been denigrated as one of the worst presidents of all time.

This time, we ended up with the Dumb'old J. Trump Circus, Sideshow, and Twitter Feed.

Carter doesn't look so bad now, does he?

If only . . . at least we'd all get wages for playing 'extras' in such a nightmare reality TV scenario.
