Of what? Face it, if you have large numbers of persons pouring through your state you have to find a way to deal with them. Even if they are arrested and deported you need to feed them and provide sanitary services. Unless you're just going to shoot them, you'll need some humanitarian aid.

not me, neither that nor the festivities today; it's the first time in my life that I didn't watch (although I was pretty young for Eisenhower's second inauguration so I really can't say what I did). I often think the inauguration speech sets the tone of the administration, although this guy has labored mightily to set that tone since November with his tweets and outbursts so I see no reason to watch this one.

I watched, it was horrific. With the former living presidents on stage beside him, he spoke of our country as 'American Carnage' and accused them and past Congresses of celebrating while the people suffered. He appealed to anti-government America First nationalist sentiment and had no words of inspiration or reconciliation for the supporters of his opponents. It was dark & ugly, certainly the most shameful inaugural address in our history.

And now he's all ours.
