berkeley burns.....
berkeley burns.....
sad.
Re: berkeley burns.....
here is how the left (soros' anarchists) deals with free speech and dissent from their views...
the person who sprayed her should be jailed. many of the rioters should be jailed.
why does CA allow riotous anarchists to continue their destructive actions?

Are you expecting someone to defend this behavior wes?
Intolerance and (thuggish intolerance) of opposing views on college campuses is definitely a problem...
What happened in this case is despicable, and the pepper sprayer and anyone who engaged in violence or destruction should be charged and punished...
But how does any of this negate any of the things Trump has done?
And whose actions have a larger impact on more people ? A President who's been busy gratuitously damaging relations with long time allies, (while he lifts some of the sanctions on Russia) and who endangers the security of the country and undermines the WOT with wrongheaded "bans", (to name just a few of the destructive things he done in just his first 12 days in office) or a handful of lefty storm trooper wannabes acting like assholes on a college campus?

Re: berkeley burns.....
ok, would you prefer a terse phone call or a pepper spray to the face?
a terse phone call or having things burnt outside your door and your lower floor smashed, as you dodge and extinguish roman candles which have been hurled at you?
a terse phone call is only that,
i guess that we see things differently,
perhaps someone will defend it. guin?

Re: berkeley burns.....
And when the response to that "terse phone call" is "fuck you, we're going to re-align our politics and economy towards China, you're on your own," what then?
The bulwark that you thought you had against Chinese expansion in the Pacific is gone over to the other side, because you couldn't control you stupid mouth.
A few idiots playing with matches is going to be the last thing on your mind.

What the fuck are you even talking about? Was spraying pepper spray into Prime Minister Turnbull's face an option? Was Donald Trump going to set something on fire outside his door? How does this make any kind of sense in your damaged brain?wesw wrote:ok, would you prefer a terse phone call or a pepper spray to the face?

Re: berkeley burns.....
"The greater impact on people"? What people? By what measure? A telephone call that throws the fate of 1,250 people into chaos because Trump worries that actually living up to the nation's agreements might make him look bad to his idiot base? A telephone call that undermines international confidence in the United States as a reliable partner to governmental agreements? A telephone call that invites foreign leaders to look elsewhere for alliances and agreements when considering their own national interests?wesw wrote:I was responding to jim s question about which action had the greater impact on people. that s all.

You really suck at this.

But why is it a binary choice? The intolerant anti-free speech movement on college campuses is a major issue and should be shown for what it is, especially in the form used at Berkeley (which is living up to its Dr. Donald D. Rose moniker). When someone like Condi Rice is not tolerated on a major college campus, then there is no free speech, and what chance is there for someone like a Breitbart columnist to offset the orthodoxy of equivalent liberals and progressives that are welcome on campuses. This BBS has 18 active threads yesterday and today taking Trump to task for one thing or another, so unless someone is saying that these thugs are within their rights to trounce 1st amendment rights because the speaker is a Trump supporter, what is the point?Lord Jim wrote:Are you expecting someone to defend this behavior wes?

Changing the question and putting words in someone else's mouth. Way to go, wes. Keep on demonstrating what a dishonest, pathetic little minion you are.
I'm going to get more popcorn. Anybody else want some?

I'm sorry that a tiny minority of UC students took Milso's bait and rioted.
There is no "anti-free speech movement" on the UCB campus. That is foolish. There is only a similar small percentage of hotheads looking for an excuse to stir shit salted in the population there as there is in all University campuses.
The Sparticus league used to hold talks on UC campuses about how wonderful the communist government of Vietnam was solely to enrage Vietnamese-american students so they would show up and try to disrupt the event.
