Did you perhaps read the book? It's a great story, and while I think the movie has diminished a bit with time, it was so well done with an excellent cast.MajGenl.Meade wrote:I know I can't enter this round, which is a pity. Although I have no recollection of the quote (or watching the movie for that matter), I worked it out correctly! It'll be a hell of a long time before that happens again!

Guin--I'm pretty sure I know it; I know I didn't see the movie, but I know the line anyway. Saying anymore might give it away.
I'll wait my customary 24 hours.

I already gave the correct answer, didn't I? And a new quote.

No Scooter, no Meade.
It's a very recent film.

BigRR - my comment to you was in reference to the new quote, not the quote I posted.Big RR wrote:Guin--I'm pretty sure I know it; I know I didn't see the movie, but I know the line anyway. Saying anymore might give it away.

So was mine; and BSG's latest hint makes me pretty sure I am right.

Was it "Fences"? I haven't seen the movie, but I think they used that in the trailer--which I did see.

Bingo! My little homage to August Wilson, whose plays (most of them) I read in a graduate seminar. Wished he'd won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's one of his most powerful works and I expect it to be magnificent!
Over to you, Econo.

This one might be easy....and it does tie into the previous quote:
I'm a Polish Jew whose parents died in a Nazi prison camp. Now I'm standing beneath a spaceship that's going to carry an astronaut to the stars. I think we can say we are living the impossible.

My favorite movie of the season, the incredibly inspiring Hidden Figures.

Mine too! I knew there wasn't much chance of it winning, but I was so happy that it at least got nominated for Best Motion Picture, and I was rooting for it anyway.

Yup, Guin's got it again. Over to you.

Re: Name That Movie!
I may have read it - back in 1960-something. But the iconic rolling on the beach scene I must have seen many times on various TV shows about movies. It was the only movie I could think of in which a woman might have said that she had a swimsuit on underneath her clothes. In a more modern movie, she'd have just skinny-dippedGuinevere wrote:Did you perhaps read the book? For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
