Well, I'm not commenting on how good that music is, only that the Grammy show is unmistakably about music. Whether you like a lot of that music or not is really not the point, there is always some genre you can appreciate.

I was part of engineering teams that won two emmy's.
Of course they don't televise the engineering/tech awards portion.

No but they do a segment honoring them.

The accountants from PWC who attended this year are banned by the Academy from ever attending again.

Gee, that will put them in their place. I might recommend dropping PWC as well.

I'm not sure why they should? There hasn't been any evidence of the tabulation of results ever coming into question, nor have they ever leaked or any other job performance issue from the firm. This was clearly human error of one partner, who was too busy instagramming photos of Emma Stone to pay attention to the envelopes in his hand.

True, but it was a very serious breach of their obligations; face it, the two guys with the envelopes had one job to do and they didn't perform. While I have no idea of the relationship between PWC and the academy, usually have seen similar screw ups in simple tasks occur when the relationship gets too close and the firm doesn't feel it has to try as hard; this type of plumb job is dished out to someone as a reward without any real concern about whether they can properly do the job or not (or course they should be able to, but we all know there are some more persons diligent than others; and if I am concerned about keeping the client I am going to send my best performer). As an aside, I recall one firm I worked for that had a boondoggle type assignment which required travel to Las Vegas for one day (it had something to do with "holding" a corporate meeting of a client); really not much to do, but one guy sent was a real screw up (as well as a great kiss-up) and he found a way to mess the job up. Somehow I'd bet the partner wouldn't have sent that guy if he didn't think the client was in his hip pocket.

At the very least, if I were part of the Academy, I would have a serious sit down with the partner in charge of this and read him the riot act. There's no excuse for this.
