True, but don't waste money and time investigating if there is no evidence of such actions occurring--and Donald Trump saying so without more is NOT evidence.

Why not wasting money is what the government is good at; there have many investigation that have gone no where and some that have been prosecuted with poor evidence.Big RR wrote:True, but don't waste money and time investigating if there is no evidence of such actions occurring--and Donald Trump saying so without more is NOT evidence.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.
Re: Looks Like A Desperate Attempt To Change The Subject...
To me it would be pointless without even a shred of evidence.

It's only wasteful if a "liberal" does it.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

If Trump is right about this, then there was enough evidence of criminal activity to convince a judge to issue a wiretap warrant.
I for one would be fascinated to hear that evidence aired in public.

Scooter--if that evidence exists, I would like to hear it as well; but I have yet to see one shred of evidence of any kind--and I can't accept the word of Trump

Thanks for catching the typo, which I corrected.

Re: Looks Like A Desperate Attempt To Change The Subject...
I may regret this, but how does criticizing a president or discussing issues destroy our republic? I would think the ab8ility to do this is the major strength of our republic, regardless of who is president.....have fun destroying our republic.

Actually, lawyers with experience in criminal law and who are keeping up with the most current psychological and criminal justice research know that there are, in fact, NO easily discernible 'tells' that indicate deception because each human being's reactions and actions in any given context are as unique as they are. Reid Technique bullshit has been proven to be just that, and to have have elicited hundreds of false confessions from actually innocent persons presumed guilty by barely literate cops employing said techniques and their imagined super powers of perception.wesw wrote:all of you lawyers should be aware of the physical tells that show up when one lies...., they were all there.
But whatever.
When, exactly, are you taking a real leave of absence from this toxic place?

well. RR. you may...
first I ll say that the remark in question was meant mostly for sue, jim and guin.
I could have easily included BargainBill and BSgal on the above list, but I find that pointless.
bill is rabid to the point of insanity and bigsky is so insecure and instable that she makes herself irrelevant.
(yes BSgal, I know that it should be spelled with an "un", but I wrote it the way I wanted to write it, as is my inalienable write.
) I do amuse myself sometimes...
so....
RR, maybe you could see things from the other side for a moment?
just to pick a reasonable number, say 50 per cent of the folks support trump.
most are like me, I think, blue collar folks who love America and don t consider themselves to be racist or whatever, unless they have what they think are good reasons to dislike folks.
I know that I m called racist or whatever all the time here, but I don t recall you, jim, guin, meade, joe, oldr or others that I respect here calling me racist or whatever, and I would be surprised if you thought of me as such....
now.., those 45-50% of folks who support trump..., well. many of them believe that our govt of for and by the People hangs in the balance.
they believe that if trump s foes bring him down, that the people will have been defeated and that our govt is no longer our own.
they see him as our last chance to reclaim what is being lost..., a govt of for and by the people.
I see that.
if trump is overthrown by the "establishment" or the "deep state" or Soros or Clinton or whomever..., I expect our country to disintegrate into factions and into riotous chaos, eventually ending in war (both civil and invasive in our country) and actual disintegration into smaller states.
the left is riotous now. trump supporters and conservatives are being beaten in the streets and on campuses.
we have become less than human in some eyes and deserving of nothing but what they give us.
the only reason that I am not stocking up on food and ammo and preparing to head for the hills is faith, and most probably stupidity. (my poor health is also a factor.)
I must have faith that America will survive and that we will not turn on each other violently.
without it, hope is lost for me.
so that is another view for you to consider, RR.
I only bothered to answer you because of my great respect for you and my belief that you are good.
now I really must remove holly s power steering pump . the weather is good and times awaisting...

Re: Looks Like A Desperate Attempt To Change The Subject...
wesw--I understand your concern, but face it, throughout our history no president has ever been "brought down"; indeed, the bring themselves down. People can protest decisions and affect legislation and how much of an agenda a president can get done, but they cannot force a president from office. Even in times it came close: Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, they did not force Congress to act or vote a certain way--and even Nixon, who was completely guilty, chose to resign and was not forced out. If Trump does something worthy of removing him from office, I would hope his supporters would see that it was his actions that caused it.
FWIW, while I have supported presidents in the past, I have NEVER seen one as a last chance for America. come on, this country is bigger than any one man or woman. my loyalty is always to the country, not to the chief executive, and the system of government, not any one man or woman. So, I honestly do not understand the faith you are placing in Mr. Trump--no man or woman deserves that sort of faith IMHO.
We have been times when we have been divided, and times when we have been united as a people, but our union is around the country, not any person.
