I didn't realize that was a movie - was it as good as the show?

Doh! Just scrolled back and realized you'd already said it wasn't.

Joss Whedon was very disappointed in the schlock they turned it into as a movie, and was determined to return to his original vision with the series.

The misnamed "the adventure begins".

Just rewatched it. Sad to say it doesn't hold up very well. The pacing is off and the "fighting" special effects are just really low-budget/dated.
