Name That Movie!
Re: Name That Movie!
I looked this movie up and it has a 3.5/4 rating from Roger Ebert and a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
But on Netflix it has only 1 & 1/4 stars!
Is that because it's intelligent? If so, I will put it in my queue.

Yeah...I've never heard of it, but now I'm going to find it and watch it. So thanks for making me look it up, CP.

Here is a REAL Philly Italian her, er, hoagie on the proper Amoroso roll ... not that chicken parm thing on that multi-grain bun.

Ingredients:
2 (12-inch) Italian-style rolls.
1/4 pound thinly sliced boiled ham.
1/4 pound thinly sliced capicola.
1/4 pound thinly sliced provolone cheese.
1/4 pound thinly sliced Genoa salami.
2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce.
1 thinly sliced large tomato.
1 thinly sliced white onion.
red wine vinegar and oil (extra-virgin olive oil is fine)
Italian oregano
hot or sweet peppers, if desired

Wasn't "Hogan's Heroes" based loosely on "Stalag 17", but played for laughs?datsunaholic wrote:But there hasn't BEEN a Hogan's Heroes movie... yet.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Yes, but Kelly's Heroes was a really good film...datsunaholic wrote:But there hasn't BEEN a Hogan's Heroes movie... yet.

I don't know if I'd call it "intelligent" but It's a movie that examines "the human condition". The composition of the scenes could be described as "art house". If you are unwilling or unable to surrender yourself to the story being told both in the abstract and through the dialogue you could very well be/get bored with it. In short if you are only interested in the "what" of it you will be bored. But if you let yourself meditate on the why while letting the visual story wash over you it will be profound.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Re: Name That Movie!
I've always wanted to be Ray-like; thanks CP! Is this movie? It's unusually deep for Bollywood. But it's Indian which some people like better than Chinese. Though others don't.

CP, what we've got here is failure to communicate.
I don't think people are taking this game seriously. I do my best, of course, but I'm mostly all breadth with very little depth when it comes to this kind of minutiae. As you know I'm a "big picture" kind of guy and this stuff clogs up the pores in my gray matter.
That said, I'll give it one last try:

RayThom knows all the answers but doesn't want to hog the spotlight.

CP, it's time to pass on this albatross. This might be your best opportunity to finally bail. IMHO -- I'd say you'd do best to give it up to JG.Joe Guy wrote:RayThom knows all the answers but doesn't want to hog the spotlight.

I think it's safe to say that there is probably no one left who doesn't know this from looking it up...

Re: Name That Movie!
CP, the time has clearly come to pull the plug on this one, officially give the answer, and either put up a new one or pass your turn to someone else...
If you chose the latter, I nominate Joe Guy...
I don't think he's done one yet...
(Of course that means he may use his alter-ego sock puppet wes, but that's the risk you run...)

Oh no!! Don't pick me!!! I'll get all nervous and then come up with something like, "I'll be back" or "I'm Batman"...
I didn't win anyway. I didn't guess based on the extra clues. I looked up the dialogue before most of the clues showed up.
