Said Hitler 'didn't even sink to using chemical weapons on his own people' like Assad has. Says this on day 2 of Passover. Calls concentration camps 'Holocaust centers.'
Surely even the Donald can see what a liability this idiot is at this point?!
After the briefing, he released a statement that cleaned it up somewhat:Minutes later, Spicer delivered a garbled defense of his remarks in which he tried to differentiate between Hitler’s actions and the gas attack on Syrian civilians last week. The attack in northern Syria left nearly 90 people dead, and Turkey’s health minister said test show sarin gas was used.
“I think when you come to sarin gas, there was no, he (Hitler) was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing,” Spicer said. “There was clearly….I understand your point, thank you. There was not…He brought them into the Holocaust center I understand that.”
“I appreciate the clarification. That was not the intent,” he said.

I was trying to draw a distinction of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on population centers. Any attack on innocent people is reprehensible and inexcusable.”

http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/11/politics/ ... l-weapons/CNN)White House press secretary Sean Spicer apologized Tuesday after saying Adolf Hitler "didn't even sink to using chemical weapons" during World War II in an effort to shame Russia's alliance with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his use of chemical weapons.
The comment was immediately decried and after a series of attempts to clear up his words, Spicer apologized in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
"I was obviously trying to make a point about the heinous acts that Assad had made against his own people last week, using chemical weapons and gas. Frankly, I mistakenly made an inappropriate and insensitive reference to the Holocaust, for which there is no comparison," Spicer said. "And for that I apologize. It was mistake to do that."
Spicer, who said he was "aware" that gas chambers were used during the Holocaust, later said he should have "stayed focused" on Assad and asked people to forgive him for his "mistake."

And probably never will.Whatever else you want to say about him, at least he was willing to own his fuck-up, admit it, and apologize for it, which is more than his boss has never done...
Here's a Spicer who is up to the job...Joe Guy wrote:Spicer should be replaced by someone who can think on her feet.
