Sorry, no.  But most of the guesses have been movies that came out around the same time this movie was filmed.

One more clue to hold you for today:
"Tell the idiot I agree."
(aside — "He agrees.")
"The choice of weapons is yours.  Do you wish to use pistols, sabers, or rapiers?"
"Balloons."
"Balloons?"
"And blunderbusses."

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

With a clue like this it will be unwittingly impossible to blow it.

Thanks Big RR.

How can I not be -- look at all the clues that are given.

I'm now waiting to find out if my last educated guess is a winner.

Your image disappeared Ray...

And was replaced by the finger waving "shame on you" image...

(Which in this particular case seems to have some poetic justice... 8-) )

I go off to work for ten hours, sure that when I got back someone would have gotten this.  Silly me!!

One more clue:  This was a British film but they did do a version for the American market.  The American version features appearances by Red Skelton (in what would become his final film appearance) as a caveman, a Roman slave, a medieval inventor, an early rocketeer, and a modern-day traveler.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

And Big RR has it (finally!)....
The character who was "better known as a villain in a major motion-picture franchise; but we never heard his own voice as almost all of his lines in that film were dubbed by someone else" is none other than Gert Fröbe, who played arch-criminal Auric Goldfinger in one of the greatest 007 movies of all time, "Goldfinger".

Give us a good one, RR.

OK, changing gears a bit:
This is like some fuckin' movie. Friends since second grade, fuckin' like THIS [crosses fingers], and then one of us gets himself in potentially BIG trouble, and now we've gotta deal with it; we've got to test our loyalty against ALL odds. It's kind of... exciting. I feel like... Chuck Norris, y'know?
Hints: From the mid-80s, this move was based on a true incident, but I imagine it did take some liberties.

It contains one of the most over the top crazy characters you'll ever see (and he did not say this line), played by a guy who has specialized in such roles.

It did OK in the box office, but was a critic's favorite, and later became a bit of a cult classic.

And for Jim, another movie in which Keane Reeves turned in a pretty good performance.

Is that the actor or the film?

I can say that the film is not called Dennis Hopper, but I din't want to give anymore away.
