My other guess would have been "Network" but that was already guessed incorrectly. I have no clue, and those clues given have not helped.

But I doubt if anyone is surprised at that? :shrug

If you ask me it was directed by some kind of a flying circus.

I was going to post a clue or two, but you guys have been doing fine at that without me. (I was wondering when somebody would get to that Marx Brothers title...) But just for fun, here's another quote--another rant from the same character as the first. (The actor speaking those lines didn't have the leading role, but IMO he stole every scene he was in...and he was nominated for an Oscar for Supporting Actor.)
  • You know what crazy is? Crazy is majority rules. Take germs, for example.

    (Other character: Germs?)

Uh-huh. In the eighteenth century, no such thing, nada, nothing. No one ever imagined such a thing. No sane person, anyway. Ah! Ah! Along comes this doctor, uh, uh, uh, Semmelweis, Semmelweis. Semmelweis comes along. He's trying to convince people, well, other doctors mainly, that's there's these teeny tiny invisible bad things called germs that get into your body and make you sick. Ah? He's trying to get doctors to wash their hands. What is this guy? Crazy? Teeny, tiny, invisible? What do you call it? Uh-uh, germs? Huh? What? Now, cut to the 20th century. Last week, as a matter of fact, before I got dragged into this hellhole. I go in to order a burger in this fast food joint, and the guy drops it on the floor. Jim, he picks it up, he wipes it off, he hands it to me like it's all OK. "What about the germs?" I say. He says, "I don't believe in germs. Germs is just a plot they made up so they can sell you disinfectants and soaps." Now he's crazy, right? See?

    (Other character says nothing...)

Ah! Ah! There's no right, there's no wrong, there's only popular opinion. You... you... you believe in germs, right?

A bit of trivia: Supposedly the director was afraid that this actor wouldn't be able to pull off the nervous, rapid speech. He sent him to a speech coach but in the end he just took away his cigarettes, and the actor played the part exactly as the director wanted.

Just confuse the sue with an ambiguous clue. It is rumored that the character econo is quoting is rather fond of kipper.

This is a movie I've never seen start to finish but have been meaning to watch forever.

I've never seen it so I'd never get it on the quotes, but I know what it is based on the "clues".

Well, so long as you didn't look it up Datsun, I think that's good enough...(I don't believe there's a rule that says you actually have to have seen the film...if you've heard of it and can recognize the title from the clues, I think you can go ahead and take it...)

Fine. If no one else is gonna take it...

I mean, the 12 angry men and dirty dozen made some sort of sense. Planet of the apes plus Monkey Business. Add in the obvious clues to Bruce Willis, and the Monty Python reference (Terry Gillam directed a LOT of films post-Python) you get:

Twelve Monkeys

OK, datsunaholic, you got it! (Both of my quotes were spoken by the character played by Brad Pitt, BTW.)
12 Monkeys is a must-see for anyone who likes sci-fi and/or time travel movies...and/or any of Terry Gilliam's other movies (especially Brazil).

Your turn, datsunaholic; take it away!

And then the Mama Bear said, "Somebody's been sleeping in my bed, too!" And finally, the Baby Bear looked and he said, "Somebody's sleeping in my bed, and the bastard's still there!" But Goldylocks had a Remington semi-automatic, with a scope and a hair-trigger!
