Maybe some gambling (craps for me, video poker crack for the wife). An aa meeting or two. Got some names/contacts who know where the good meetings are.
Enjoy the time without me, but remember:
I'll be back.

No, no, no. You need to flounce off in a huff and proclaim that you will be leaving this toxic place, never to return, just like one of our other habitués. Then we will know for certain that you will be back.oldr_n_wsr wrote:Enjoy the time without me, but remember:

We stayed there when we went in September. The lazy river was great. Too bad they charge $20 for a $3 inner tube. We just floated around without the inner tube. This time we stayed off strip at the Boulder Station. Best part was $5.99 breakfast buffet. I love breakfast buffets and was not dissapointed. All the sausage and bacon you can eat.We usually stay at The Mandalay Bay which has the best pool set up...

It's not the kind of mobbed up place it was in the 50s or 60s...
It's really quite "family friendly"...
We usually stay at The Mandalay Bay which has the best pool set up...
But as I said to the cab driver who dropped us off at our hotel...
They should erect a statute of Bugsy Seigel Twenty Feet High in the middle of The Strip...
Without him, none of this would ever have happened...
But it's "family friendly". Doesn't that mean no more topless shows?oldr_n_wsr wrote:I did no drinking and not much gambling and still had a great time.
There is plenty to do other than that. Went and saw Penn and Teller (there aremany other shows to see and they don't cost all that much).
Went to red rock canyon and some other red sandstone hiking/climbing area (forgot the name). There's the hoover dam and the western edge of the grand canyon (those we went to on the trip last september).
We also went to (and I swam in) lake meade.
When we go next time I told my wife I am renting a couple of motorcycles and me and the son are going riding.
And you can go to a rifle range and shoot just about any gun/rifle you can imagine including the 50cal sniper rifle and fully automatic machine guns (M-16, AK-47, Tompson sub....).
That's planned on our next trip also.
Vegas, it's not just for drinking/gambling/carousing anymore.
When I was first of legal drinking age, for $5 you would get into a show from an act that had been big a decade earlier, like The Four Tops of The Platters, and two drinks served by topless waitresses. That was a deal you ran for.Jarlaxle wrote: Doesn't that mean no more topless shows?![]()
