Callista Gingrich for Ambassador to the Vatican?

Multiple sources are reporting this as imminent. I knew that she had been Newt's mistress helping to break up his second marriage: what I did not know is this bit (his request for an annulment) copied from Wikipedia:

I suppose the Catholic Church is long on forgiving the sinner. Given the rapturous reception given to the grotesque personal background of Trump by the students and faculty of Liberty "University" last weekend this is not a surprise.

I think I know the reasoning behind this...

Newt Gingrich, though a frequent defender and supporter of Trump, has also had no problem criticizing him publicly on occasion (in other words he hasn't been a slavish enough sycophant for Trump's taste) and this would be a good way to get Newt away from the national press...

But wouldn't ambassador to the Azores or some south pacific island be a better place to send him? The Vatican is still in Western Europe. Granted, it's probably not all that important a post, but I don't think Newt can keep his mouth shut all that long.
