Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Leon Trotsky may have been treated a bit worse and more unfairly than Donald Trump.
Closer to home, and off the top of my head, James Garfield, Aaron Burr, Charles Sumner,Tom Eagleton and Ed Muskie were all treated more unfairly than Donald Trump. Hell, virtually all of Donald Trump's GOP primary rivals were treated more unfairly -- by Donald Trump.

GAH!
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I think Benedict Arnold was probably treated more unfairly than Trump.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
And, dare I say, Hillary.

Hell, Richard Nixon was treated more unfairly than Donald Trump...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
The bigger question is, why is Trump once again making something like the Coast Guard commencement ceremony all about him? In what universe that exists in the cesspool of wes's brain should that EVER be acceptable?
"The dildo of consequence rarely comes lubed." -- Eileen Rose
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
the even bigger question is would he ever be capable of not making a thing, anything, all about him? In his pea brain nothing exists but him and everything is there to serve his needs.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
How completely unsurprising that this utterly crass, supremely graceless, self-absorbed man would use a commencement speech at a Coast Guard graduation ceremony as a platform to whine about how "unfairly" he is treated...
I cringe when I think about what's likely to spew out of his vile, self-aggrandizing self-pitying maw when he goes to Arlington Cemetery at the end of this month to lay a wreath at The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier:

"Today we are here to honor the sacrifices of those soldiers who fell in battle defending out country...
Soldiers who I am sure, if they were alive today would have voted for me big league, (just as all my current soldiers did) and they would have made my historic landslide victory even more historic...
And I also know something about sacrifice and battle, believe me...
The sacrifice these brave heroes made is not unlike the sacrifice I made in giving up my previous life to become President...
And the battles they faced were very much like the battles I face every day with the lying, fake news, enemy of the people media...
Many people have said that the sacrifices I've made and the battles I've faced are even greater than those faced by our fallen soldiers...And that may be true, I don't know, it's just what many people have said...
But that doesn't mean that these guys weren't heroes too, so it's right that we should honor them..."

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
People have accused Trump of acting like an adolescent, or a 10 year old, or a two year old, but you really have to go back further than that to accurately capture the stage at which his development became arrested...In his pea brain nothing exists but him and everything is there to serve his needs.
"nothing exists but him and everything is there to serve his needs" is exactly the way an infant perceives the world...
To refer to Trump's way of perceiving reality as "infantile" isn't metaphorical; it's literally accurate...
We are all born as sociopaths, but fortunately most of us grow out of it...

I feel sorry for the graduates, what a stinker of a commencement address.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Obviously ironic in the circumstance, but the answer is no. Which is why I am somewhat disheartened by the special counsel appointment. Trump has shown himself to be an incompetent buffoon plus any of several dozen adjectives, but in itself that is not illegal. My sense is that is that he and his supporters (of whom, despite his poll ratings there are still many) will say - OK, you've got your wish, now lay off while Muller does his work. And the net result will be that someone, probably Flynn, will be found to have had illegal contacts with the Russians and will be fined and there will be much wringing of hands and thanking Muller for getting to the bottom of things while the Trump bus continues on its merry way. In the end, if Muller finds that the Russians did indeed attempt to influence the election by manipulating opinion (as opposed to actual hacking of voting machines) and were successful, there is no constitutional redress. There is no Hawkeye telling the umpire to require a redo.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Yeah, the irony was the whole point of that...
(Though come to think of it, if Trump really doesn't know the answer to that question, maybe Congress actually could get away with an impeachment on those grounds...

I can't agree that the answer is no; congress can impeach and remove any president for office for whatever it considers to be a high crime and misdemeanor; they don't need a special law being violated to do so. But they would have to be plenty motivated to remove the president, which is why it has never happened, and only two presidents were impeached in our history.

I'll repeat what I went into in some detail in another thread earlier...
There is really no reason, based both on the history of this type of process, and all the statements and annoucments of actions made by the Congressional players involved in this investigation, to believe that the appointment of The Special counsel is going to do anything to narrow scope of the investigations or somehow take heat off of Trump...
Exactly the opposite...

I see wes hasn't been by for a week...
Can't say as I blame him; the past week hasn't exactly been Mardi Gras if you're a Trumpanzee...
Maybe this past week has started to finally shake him out of his trance...
But more likely he's fuming about how the unfair conspiracy of fake news reporters and sore loser Democrats is working to stop The Great Tribune Of the Common Man from Making America Great Again...
Just like I know (because I also get a lot of the emails they get) Trump and his minions are telling his faithful followers to think...

Now we know anybody who promises to be honest with Trump, the president considers crazy.
