A Texas man has filed a lawsuit against a woman for the cost of a movie ticket after she texted during their cinema date.
Brandon Vezmar, 37, said the woman walked out of the screening of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 when he complained about her persistent phone use.
Mr Vezmar filed the petition in the state capital of Austin last week seeking $17.31 (£13.30), arguing his date's behaviour was "a threat to civilised society".
She said she refused to reimburse him because "he took me out on a date".

Here's a better picture of Mr. Vezmar.

Now you know what a real douchebag looks like.
Really — filing suit for less than twenty bucks? His career as a “seasoned political communications professional” and the president of The Messaging Company must not be going very well. From his website:

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: The US national sport
To tell you the truth there is part of me that says "good for him" After all he paid for someone to act like an ass and ruin the movie experience for him and probably quite a few other moviegoers. Then there's the rest of me who says she's already proven herself to no be worth the effort
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: The US national sport
He's in PR. You just posted his photograph, and a link to his website. I'd say job well done to Mr. Vezmar.

No disrespect intended to Gob or whoever else runs this website, but posting that here is the equivalent of putting up a billboard on a one-lane dirt road twenty miles from the middle of nowhere. The 20 or 30 people who are likely to see this on 'Plan B' aren't going to do a whole helluvalot for his business one way or the other.Guinevere wrote:He's in PR. And the link was to a story about him, not to his website.

Re: The US national sport
It literally amazes me that she could rip herself away from the gripping movie Guardians of the Galaxy 2 to text for even a few seconds.
Re: The US national sport
That must be a typo...Brandon Vezmar, 37
I'm sure it was supposed to read, "Brandon Vezmar, 15"

Wow, Guardians of the Galaxy 2!!!
I didn't know there was a Guardians of the Galaxy 1.
Oh, and they should put a cellphone jammer in every movie theater. although I think that is illegal
Or create a faraday cage around the theater.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Personally, if they are quiet I couldn't care less is someone is texting; it's the talking (and getting up to use the bathroom--you can't hold it for 90 minutes? don't go to the movies) that annoys me, and people don't need a cell phone for either of those. Yes, the light can be a bit distracting, but then movie theaters aren't really all that dark anyway.

Well that helps.
Not really.
Haven't heard of just plain old Gardians of the Galaxy (with no number) either.

I remember before texting and they would be yapping away. I told some "kids" to be quite. Thankfully they quieted down.Personally, if they are quiet I couldn't care less is someone is texting; it's the talking
Now if they would have only stop giggling, they might still be.................

I don't go to movies, can't smoke.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.
