They're probably telling people not to give it away quite yet... they may need it themselves!
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Anna Bligh: "...while the weather might break our hearts it can't break our will".

Would somebody slap this bitch already? These are just the kind of platitudes which don't really help at the moment.

She's a pollie, give her a break.

She is in the spotlight with the media and there is nothing she can do other than chuck out platitudes.

What options does she have? She could go and start throwing sandbags around or being on a chain of people pulling others from cars. But that wouldn't achieve anything either seeing she hasn't the proper skill-set.

If she said nothing people would think she was a heartless unfeeling bitch.

I'm not a huge fan of hers Hen...

Could you tell? ;)

She was on TV earlier but refused to speak when the State Disaster Co-ordinator tried to hand across to her. Her speechwriters were obviously still working on that little gem...

Here's hoping you're Ok Aardy Image

As for the alpacas, the way they used to do it back in the day with horses was: leave the reins on (or whatever you use for alpacas) and tie them to the back of the boat/raft and let them swim behind you. They'll be able to do it fine, and really shouldn't protest much. (I hope)

Safe wishes for you!

Stock assessors are finding prize bulls dead in tree tops. I fear many animal deaths will have occurred.

I am trying not to let Debbie and Maddy (9y/o) how woried I really am. We can't get out even if we wanted to, there is on one to come and get us and the creek (2 kms away) is rising fast.

We should be fine as long as the shed holds up but the drive way is washing away. Look I know we are high enough and behind two hills I am just so scared.Image

The main road to the Evac We couldn't get there at 5am picture taken at 9am on the way home

You take care Aardy. Do authorities know that you are there in the first instance?

I can try and get the information to appropriate people if you send me a PM with your exact location. They may not be able to get there, but if the worst comes to the worst, they will know they will need to get a helicopter to you.

I'm safely home now on Springbrook Island (formerly Springbrook Mountain). Of the two roads that lead up here, one was closed by the SES 24 hours ago due to flooding and rockslides and the other has already had a couple of rockslides. I'm not expecting to be able to reach civilisation tomorrow...

I am so glad you were able to get through. Have you got enough food? Do you have bottled water?

If you have no bottled water, it might be a good idea to keep the bath filled in case of emergency?

We have 30,000 litres of water in our tank Hen... I reckon it'll see us through the worst of it! ;)

We're good for food and I've got some beer and a nice bottle of Glenlivet for medicinal purposes.

I can only assume that you mean the chocolate to be a last resort for me... kind of like a cyanide capsule
