I watched it with my son, and he really enjoyed it.Crackpot wrote:I seem to spend a lot of my time lately on Amazon looking though DVDs I can pick up for cheap so I can show them to my son when he's ready. (I think he's about ready to see Flash Gordon For example...)
I've also shown him some of the old 1930's Buster Crabbe serial Flash Gordon episodes that I used to watch when I when they ran on local TV on Saturday mornings when I was his age, and he likes them too.
Jimmy has been exposed to a lot of stuff that's in black-and-white, (Like the George Reeves Superman series, and the original Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein movies) so he's not automatically turned-off or bored by it like many kids are today...
He also likes the old Lassie and The Rifleman shows...
And I wouldn't show either one to a child. But you do as you wish, of course.Bicycle Bill wrote:Disagree with you, Meade. It's always kind of fun (and funny) to go back in time to see just what was considered 'obscene', 'indecent', or 'appealing to one's prurient interests' back during the 1970s, and then compare that to what we can find with nothing more than the click of a mouse or a TV remote today.
Remember "Midnight Cowboy"? Oscar-winner for "Best Picture" of 1969, but when it was originally released it was rated 'X'. Thirty-five years later, we had "Brokeback Mountain", released with a soft 'R'.

The regulator may not be available without the motor.MGMcAnick wrote:oldr_n_wsr wrote: I may take the motor/regulator out if I find some time this weekend to see if I can fix the cable and maybe return the new part. My daughter will save $50.95 if I can. Didn't look like the cable was broken, just pulled from the anchor point.
If you can hear crunching and grinding noises inside the door when you hit the switch, the motor is good. Regulators by themselves are much cheaper.
I've yet to see a regulator I could fix, and I've replaced a bunch of them. I've seen three back door windows on Jeep Grand Cherokees fall into their doors while sitting still for days. Poor design.
Rock Auto ROCKS in many areas. Regulators is one.
