The fact is, Trump gave Poroshenko the bum's rush so as not to offend his Russian overlords:
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with President Trump at the White House on Tuesday, in what Poroshenko had earlier described as part of a "substantial visit" and the White House called a "drop-in."
Ukraine is concerned about what the Trump administration's efforts to improve relations with Russia might mean for its own relationship with Washington.
The White House didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for the Ukrainian leader — he dropped in to the Oval Office to see Trump following a meeting with Vice President Pence.
I'm glad that Poroshenko was welcomed in Washington, (he may not be a Jeffersonian type, but he's infinitely preferable to Putin, and he is having to fight a Russian invasion...) but the Russian Foreign Minister got a much warmer reception...
Trump showed what he really thinks of Ukraine when he has talked about recognizing Putin's illegal annexation of Crimea, and when he disgracefully had the plank in the GOP platform calling for providing Ukraine with defensive weaponry trashed...

Although the Trump brand has been on the downtown property, the Trump Organization has never owned the real estate – which has been the focus of a long-running legal battle. (another set of investors defrauded by Trump)
