Re: Just up the road
Hey Aardy, if you really meant 10,000 gallons you'll be good... that's about 45,000 litres!

Mate the dams are overflowing as are the tanks so water is not a problem.
But we have to clean up the averies. They are getting a whiff about them, all that water and a weeks worth of bird poo.

If you have no bottled water, it might be a good idea to keep the bath filled in case of emergency?
What kind of emergency would get him to bathe?

We're fine. It's actually stopped raining right now but the roads are closed until they clear up and shore up the rocks.
Tell a lie, I've just looked out the window and it's raining again!

Here are a few pictures from the end of our road.
that is a cow paddoc in the backgrownd. The house in the midle is 20+ years old and the woman who lives there said in the last 50 years she has never seen anything like this

That water streches from the Hyway 4Kms to the North and 2Kms to the Bridge over the Lockyer Creek to the south
I have no idea how far it gos the other side of the bridge. I do know the Town of Forest Hill 9Kms South from here is under
This is what is left of the driveway

Maddy is 9 and that hole is 500mm deep.
We were so lucky to be safe and sound no real damage a lot of muck to get out of the house.
Next is to see who we can help and if anyone we know is missing. Debbie's Daughter lives in Toowoomba and knows one family who lost a son and his mum.
Now it is Ipswich and Brisbane's turn Good luck to all down river

That looks like a job for ... gravel man!

Electronics retailer Bing Lee has faced an onslaught of criticism for trying to raise money for the Queensland flood victims by getting people to "like" its company on Facebook.
The NSW retailer yesterday pledged to donate $1 for every person who would "like" its company on Facebook. But it was met with criticism when many said its idea of raising funds through promoting itself was "distasteful".
"No matter how you spin, it's just distasteful," said Chris Peters in a comment left on Bing Lee's Facebook page.
"Using a disaster as a marketing opportunity is truly pathetic," said another, Tim Schubert. "You should offer to pledge $10,000 regardless of how many fans you have."

Cricket today has thrown its support behind the Queensland flood victims, with both the Australian and English teams helping to raise much needed funds.
Speaking at a press conference in Adelaide this morning, Australian batsman David Hussey and English spinner Graeme Swann urged fans attending tonight’s KFC Twenty20 International match at Adelaide Oval to dig deep.
Players from Australia’s Twenty20 mens’ and womens’ teams, and volunteers from South Australian Cricket Association, will be collecting money around the ground at tonight’s match.
England's cricketers will donate part of their match fees from today's Twenty20 international against Australia to the flood victims in Queensland.
Members of Australia's women's team, who will play England in a Twenty20 before the men's game, will also conduct a coin collection in the Adelaide Oval crowd tonight.
The series between Australia and England is due to move to Brisbane for the fifth one-day international on January 30, with Cricket Australia having already announced the match will be dedicated to raising funds for the disaster.
CA is set to announce further flood relief fundraisers before that match, with Hussey adding: "During the combination of the Twenty20 and Commonwealth Bank ODI Series we will be helping out the Premier's Flood Relief appeal."

Re: Just up the road
Just found out two boys our blokes go to school with are missing feared gone. The family who's road side farm stall was on the main road to Forest Hill haven't been heard from. No one knows what happened to them 6 in all.
It makes it so much worse when you know the missing.
My Step daughter lives in Toowoomba was at work in the flash flood. She is fine so all extreemly great. But her flat mate is dating the elder brother of the 10y/o and his mum who were washed away. The 10y/o told rescures to save his little brother first (7y/o) but the water was to farst for anyone to get back to them.
Mall said it sounded like a stampeed going around the shopping center. People came rushing in screeming, the coffee shop where Mall works started handing out coffee to anyone who was wet or cold.
I am watching Brisbane now My mum and dad are there and in their 80's. They are both as tough as boot leather and their home is up high I just hope they don't get cut off.
