Where Oh Where Is It?

Post by RayThom »

Has anyone seen the G20 table card with the name 'Donny' on it? (1:15)

Here's a real toe tapper...

(WARNING: Not recommended viewing for anyone who has just finished a meal)
President Donald Trump Posted a Video With a ‘Make America Great Again’ Song. Seriously.

President Trump has had quite the Sunday. He began with a flurry of tweets boasting about the progress he made at the G20 summit, and now he has graced the world with a glorious song.

After the morning tweetstorm concluded, Trump tweeted a slideshow scored by a new little tune titled: Make America Great Again.

It is everything you would expect.

The song has a patriotic score and powerful vocals. However, it repeats the same refrain over and over: “Make America great again / Lift the torch of freedom all across the land / Step into the future, joining hand in hand.”

With “Make American great again” sung a few times as the chorus.

This is not the first time President Trump has promoted the song. On the Fourth of July, he also tweeted out video of a choir singing the new anthem.

Somebody did it, and did it better, over 60 years ago.....

http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2012/05/d ... -mp3s.html
Written by Lois Steele and Jack Fulton (prolific songwriters who had worked with many other artists including Nat King Cole) and arranged by Fred Waring, it was performed on 'Don McNeill's Breakfast Club' radio show; McNeill eventually assembled a massed chorus featuring both two different high school choruses (Evanston IL and New Trier HS of Winnetka IL) along with a group of Chicagoland Boy and Girl Scouts in April 1956 to produce and release a 7-inch, 45-rpm single on the Cadence label.  And yes, I had a copy of it during my formative childhood years, and found that some fifty years later I could still sing along with the above video.

But even with that sort of indoctrination and brainwashing I managed to *NOT* become a Trumpanzee.  So, wes, like any other addiction to a dangerous drug, it is possible to overcome your dependence on Trump's tweets, blusterings, brain dropping, half-truths, and outright lies.  You can do it if you are only willing to try.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

I always liked this one better.

  • rough English translation:
"Whether it storms or snows, Whether the sun shines upon us,
The day burning hot, Or the night ice cold,
We may have dirt on our faces, But joyful are our minds — yes, our minds.
Our Panther moves forward Through the storm's wind."
There were/are, in fact, four other verses, but in the movie they merely kept repeating the first one.
Sort of like most Americans do with "America the Beautiful", "America"(a/k/a 'My Country, 'Tis of Thee'), or "The Star-Spangled Banner".

The song has a patriotic score and powerful vocals.
Powerful vocals? In what universe?
