Spicer resigns
Despite his relaxed attitude to the truth, there appears to be a bridge too far even for him.

For those who have trouble accessing the NYT on line:
Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary
By GLENN THRUSH JULY 21, 2017
WASHINGTON — Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday morning, telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.
Mr. Trump offered Mr. Scaramucci the job at 10 a.m. The president requested that Mr. Spicer stay on, but Mr. Spicer told Mr. Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake, according to a person with direct knowledge of the exchange.

Re: Spicer resigns
Believe it or not, there was a time (not that long ago) that Sean Spicer had a very good reputation among political pros on both sides of the aisle...
But like so many others who started out with good reputations, (like Kellyanne Conway) he fed that reputation go into the wood chipper when he allowed himself to fall into the orbit of the Reputation-Destroying Death Star that is Donald Trump...
I hope it was worth it...
Unlike Conway, Spicer is not wealthy so I hope he makes a pile off of his book deal, because I think it will be a very long time before anyone hires him to work in politics again...

from the other thread where I just posted:

Some credit given, however, for quitting because he didn't agree with the choice of Scaramucci for Communications Director. If only others in that administration would have some kind of backbone.

Re: Spicer resigns
When I heard about the resignation, my first thought was, "This is bad news for Melissa McCarthy."

GAH!
Re: Spicer resigns
How long has he been waiting for some external excuse to resign, I wonder.

Gee, even the broadcast networks have pre-empted their programming to carry today's White House briefing...
CBS has even bumped The Young And The Restless...

I think they're starting to smell the blood in the water.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Spicer resigns
Aaargh!! If you look very closely, you can see that Scaramucci has Trump's butt DNA all over his lips. He's pathetic. I'm sure that he has already said, "I love the president" more than Melania ever did...
Spicy Resigns
The Spice-man goeth.
I see a New York Times, number 1, best seller on the horizon.
I'm going to miss ol' Spicy. Some of the best -- and worst -- ad lib humor ever from the White House.

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?

I hope he dishes bigly in his inevitable book!

Re: Spicer resigns
I'm sure the Trump legal army has already sent him threatening letters to dissuade him from doing so.

Re: Spicer resigns
While I would like to see the dirt on Trump, I wouldn't want it so much as to ever want to read something Spicer wrote (nor would I ever trust anything he says).

1. 2. McCormick moved out to the county (formerly the country, when I was growing up there) above Baltimore, at least 35 years ago. Also not "just outside the Beltway." It's not even just outside the Baltimore beltway.

I assume (and vaguely recall reading) they all had to sign non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements at some point. But that would be White House counsel, not private counsel.Scooter wrote:I'm sure the Trump legal army has already sent him threatening letters to dissuade him from doing so.
Did anyone else see that the Trumpanzee's personal legal team is running madly away, too.

I dunno, but I think it would not be much of a reach for SNL to just change the make up and have her do Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

I love American politics, it's so much like "The Bold and the Beautiful", but with less good actors.

Sean Spicer leaving the White House
