Enjoyed some real maple syrup on my Coho Salmon tonight. And probably will enjoy some on my Salmon Caesar tomorrow.

Fucking depressing. My second cousin died last Saturday he was 21. Barely knew him only saw him once or twice a year and less recently (understandable with the teen/young adult thing) and barely got the chance to know him as an adult. Last time I saw him I barely recognized him no longer being the adolescent I had become accustomed to. There were stories of him having "problems" but the few minutes I spent talking to him a year ago assured me that he had enough of a head on his shoulders to see him through. It seems I was wrong

Thanks for the thoughts. Though I feel it is somewhat lost on me. I barely knew him I feel for his mother and grandmother (my great aunt) I feel little grief for the loss personally. At least at the moment. The reality hasn't hit me. The funeral may be different. Right now I'm in a bit of an existential malaise. So far I've had twice the time on this earth as he got in total. Just sort of left me with a "WTF World?" Mindset.

I don't know. it is suspected. (Or some other substance abuse) I'm not going spend the funeral prying details of the coroners report from the grieving. (My mom will do that :shrug )

I get a vibe this is another death by fentanyl tragedy. Regardless, at 21 the kid was just getting started and now it's all gone. Very sad.

This, too, shall pass. Peace.

Sorry to learn of this, CP. It remains more than mournful when the young depart too early.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I spent the last week or so binge watching the Battlestar Galactica reboot from 2003-2009 on SyFy, which played during many years that I didn't have TV or didn't have cable. It was one of the most rewarding series I've ever watched; so much good writing, character development and really fantastic acting, with a wholly satisfying ending.

"In order to serve me better" my trash and recycling pick-up service has revamped their website...

One of the ways in which they are "serving me better" is to now require a captcha be filled out before I go into the section to make a payment...(And not just any type of captcha; one of those "gotcha" type captchas where it's nearly impossible to decipher what they're asking for)

I am so relived that they have done this...

I'll sleep a lot better knowing that they've added this extra security measure to prevent some nefarious fiend from going in to my account and paying my Sunset Recology bill...

In panic mode on Saturday when I realized my driver's licence wasn't in my wallet. Tore up my apartment looking for it. Resigned myself to having lost it and paid $31 this morning to replace it. Come home to sit down at my desk and glance at my printer, lift up the cover and see my licence sitting on the glass where I left it two weeks ago when I needed to scan it for something. Sighing because I know I would be incapable of keeping track of where my own head it is if it weren't attached to the rest of me.

It's all downhill from here. Next you will be looking for your reading glasses through your reading glasses. Have you noticed every once in a while a long hair will grow on one of your earlobes? Sometimes overnight?

I'm almost that bad; I'm constantly looking for my glasses when they're on top of my head.

On my earlobes, out of my nose, suddenly there will be one eyebrow hair that will sprout out with a mind of its own. The number of spots my barber has to take a razor to when I get my haircut just keeps growing.

Been there done that... :?

I've also looked for my dark glasses while they were hanging on the front of my shirt...

Nearly every web site I visit wants me to give them my email address, so that they can give me many many delightful things "delivered directly to my inbox." Seriously? Are there really people who feel like they need more stuff in their email inboxes?????
